The brush has a stylish, enamel-like handle, with accent bands of 18/8 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish, and is dishwasher-safe. The brush handle is shaped for a firm grip, is weighty enough to provide control, and has a hole to facilitate hanging on a hook or peg. The bristles are 2-1/4 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide. Overall, the brush measures 9-3/4 inches long. This is truly a terrific basting brush! It is sturdy and has a good size handle. The brush is substantial and the nylon bristles are very easy to clean. Egg wash rinses right out with ease. Highly recommended! A+!

Used it once on a hot skillet, and it melted almost entirely (the bristles, not the handle). If you're only using it on low temp applications, I think it'd work fine, but for anything real hot, go for something in silicone.

I thought it was silicone. The hairs come out of the brush when you use it for BBQ :(
