5.0 out of 5 stars quality product
I prefer manual can openers on a philosophical/aesthetic level -- not using electricity unnecessarily, not cluttering my counter -- but in reality, they are often uncomfortable, rusty contraptions I'd rather ask my husband to use. I finally splurged and got this one based on other users' recommendations.
I like it: It's comfortable -- solid, but not too heavy; no...

1.0 out of 5 stars KitchenAid Can Opener
I was extremely diappointed in this simple can opener. It does not work. The gear and wheel will not cut smoothly and misses some spots. I've had to pry the lid of a partially opened can off several times.

I like it: It's comfortable -- solid, but not too heavy; no thin, flat parts to dig into my hand. Plus it's sharp and not rusting -- at least so far (2 months). I'm even washing it in the dishwasher!

5.0 out of 5 stars After All These Years, December 28, 2005
By
This review is from: KitchenAid Can Opener, White (Kitchen)
I bought this can opener, the day I saw it. It is so easy to use and hold with arthritis. I open cleanly and easily and when the gunk is building up on the cutter, into the dishwasher it goes. Four years and still smoothly turning away.

4.0 out of 5 stars They really do no hassle replace it, June 17, 2004
This review is from: KitchenAid Can Opener, White (Kitchen)
Ours popped apart after having it a few months, but I called and they are sending a new one. It really is a great can-opener, and even if they weren't replacing my broken one, I would still buy another just like it. Going back to my safety can opener in the meantime has been awful - I forgot how hard to use other openers were.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best manual can opener, March 11, 2009
This review is from: KitchenAid Can Opener, White (Kitchen)
I have always used a manual opener and purchased this KitchenAid Can opener when my old one broke. It works with out much effort and is quite nice looking. It's the best one I've ever had. I would recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, Last Can Opener You Will Ever Need!, April 29, 2003

This KitchenAid can opener is very solid and works like a dream. This opener is so well made I cant imagine ever needing another one. Just close the round blade on the inside rim of the can (like you would with any can opener) until it dents in the can and twist the knob. That is it! The handle is large and this opener is very easy to clean. Very highly recommended!

1.0 out of 5 stars Won't last, March 27, 2011
This review is from: KitchenAid Can Opener, White (Kitchen)
Good for a year or so, but after that it simply stops cutting, able to punch into the can but unable to move when you turn the crank. I thought the first I bought was an anomaly (believing Kitchen Aide a good brand) but the second was even worse.
