5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
A very multiuse tool. It cuts different kinds of cheese ina very smooth way. If you have a party, it's wonderful to prepare hors d'oeuvres. It cleans easily.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good
The wire broke off as I was slicing my first slice of chedder cheese. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend this cheese slicer. Last I checked, they're supposed to last longer than one slice. Maybe mine was faulty...but regardless, I expect better.

I bought four hand cheese slicers and returned three of them, including this one. Kept the Trudeau, it's definitely the best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Heavy Duty, one flaw, November 25, 2008

Its a solid product and the only flaw I see is that the wire slicer is not adjustable. So if I want thicker/thinner slices of cheese, I'm stuck with just one thickness. It worked great on Velveeta cheese.

5.0 out of 5 stars A relyable cheese slicer, September 3, 2008

Very good with cutting the cheese and that is not saying any thing about stinking up the joint on you. This cheese slicer is a very good thing to have and is indeed a must have to keep in your kitchen as a food tool. This cheese slicer is very comfortable to grab and hold and is also easy to wash.

Most slicers of this type are the same. This one has a good feel but time will tell if it is any better than the next one. The question is whether the wire will be strong and last a long time or will it break or stretch. It has worked well the few times I have used it and is easy to clean and it looks good. I would recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, July 24, 2005

Cuts very easily. However, it's not easy to get that last half centimeter due to the shape of the part holding the wire. Not really a big deal, and a common problem to this style cheese slicer (only style I've never had this problem with is the paper-cutter-style cheese slicer...the one with the board and the hinged slicer).

5.0 out of 5 stars The Black Knight of Cheese Slicers, April 11, 2007

Stands up to hard cheddars, but won't hold its nose at your processed cheese or softer cheeses either (pssst, that means even Velveeta, for all the other single gals out there). The Kitchen Aid name promises it will be around awhile, and the thread is taught and doesn't slip at all. My hero. :-)

1.0 out of 5 stars does not work, July 26, 2007

I am normally a fan of kitchen aid. This slicer has not cut a single peice of cheese since I brought it home. I've tried it on hard cheese, semi hard and soft sheese. It's really just taking up space in my utensils drawer.
