Great Product!!,

This review is from: KitchenAid : KGCS166GSS 36 Gas Cooktop - Stainless Steel
I bought this cooktop a few months back and me and my wife love it. Just like any other appliance you buy you must take care of it. I say this because I often read reviews on cookware, ect, where users have taken the appliance right up to the limits on a regular basis and expect consistent performance. To me this product is about all that you can expect out of a stainless steel cooktop for the price and I have no real complaints. Very good product that I would guy again.

The good, the bad and the disappointing,
By Loves To Cook (Sunny California) - See all my reviews Little did I know that this cooktop should come with a warning label that reads, "unsuitable for home canning." The heat from a normal home canner, combined with the amount of time needed to can, overheats the stainless cooktop and PERMANENTLY stains the finish. I searched the internet trying to find a way to remove the bluish gold stains, and ultimately learned that they are permanent. In Kitchen Aid's defense ---- if you happen to read the entire users' manual BEFORE purchasing the cooktop ---- you will find that they state, "The large diameter of most water-bath or pressure canners combined with high heat settings for long periods of time can cause damage to the cooktop and/or surrounding areas." Frankly I never thought of making jam or canning some applesauce to be outlandish uses of a cooktop priced at just under $1000. Apparently I was wrong. Kitchen Aid obviously knows that there is a problem. My faith in their products has been destroyed.
