This Mixer is a SURVIVOR,
By
This review is from: KitchenAid KHM7TPK 7-Speed Ultra-Power Hand Mixer, Cook for the Cure Komen Foundation Pink (Kitchen)
I am a breast cancer survivor, but I can't say the same for the half a dozen hand mixers I owned before this one. One of our holiday traditions is oatmeal cookies, which are an extraordinarily thick combination of oats, shortening, sugar and flour. It has been the demise of all of my previous mixers, some of just shorted out, one caught on fire.THIS KitchenAid however, has the power and torque to make quick work of those cookies and so much more. The style of the mixing blades makes them very easy to clean. The digital operation is incredible, and I've only had to use about half the power the mixer has. I've owned this mixer through several batches of many cookies and waited 2 years to write this review because I wanted to confidently say - this is the real SURVIVOR.

Love the mixer. It's everything I had hoped it would be. It really does start slowly enough not to splatter.

I bought this to replace a 30 year old mixer we had received for our wedding. I'm amazed how much power (and torque) this unit has. Easy to control (low to high speeds). I was able to source several accessory items from another website that look quite useful (dough hooks, a whisk and a beverage stirrer. Very pleased. Rated 4 stars only because we've had it a short time- no idea how it will hold up.

Pink and Perfect,

Bought this for my wife who has been making everything over the past year with her super strong right arm of wonder! She absolutely loves this mixer and not just because it is pink! The beaters are easy to put in and take out as well as clean(I can attest to that part) and she says it's one of the lightest she's ever used. I don't think she's had to go above 4 on the speed settings but she's raring to take it out for a spin!

I recently got married and received this mixer as a wedding present. I've been baking for years and always used my mom's cheap mixers in the preparation steps. I was amazed when I made cookies with this mixer. It's so easy to use and works great! I think I might get my mom one for Christmas so she can see what she's been missing :) The pink is cool too because they donate money to the Susan Komen cancer foundation.

I bought this mixer in Feb. 2007 because of all of the good reviews at Consumer Search. It worked very well until June 2008, when the power button died. I do not use the mixer heavily at all, maybe once or twice a month. Given the price, I thought it would last much longer. It lasted just long enough not to be under warranty any longer. I am very disappointed, and I certainly won't spend another $70 for this mixer.

Bought September 2006; Died June 2009,

I liked this mixer, and like a previous reviewer already stated, it was great while it lasted. Alas, it only lasted for 2 years and 9 months. I suspect the problem was the electronic controls, rather than the motor itself. If Kitchenaid made another hand mixer with non-electronic controls, I would have bought it as a replacement. Instead, I went with the Cuisinart 5-speed hand mixer, which has manual speed controls.

I love this product. It does a perfect job and is REALLY easy to clean! The color is just an added bonus :) Definitely a keeper.

I received my pink 7 speed mixer for Christmas in 2008 as a gift. By Thanksgiving of 2009 it was dead - after using it only THREE times to mix regular cake mix batter out of the box - nothing fancy or heavy. With my fourth use of this mixer, it would not stay turned on for more than 2 seconds at at time and according to their instruction book, it shouldn't be used when this happens. So my thinking is that it must be a frequent problem if it's in the book. Kitchenaid, although very nice on the phone, would not replace the mixer without proof of purchase because according to the serial number, it was more than a year old. I was told that they do not repair these mixers or send parts for them. They did however, offer me a new mixer at a discounted price of $51 (plus shipping, I suppose). I don't know if I want to invest more money in a product that did not serve me well from the beginning so I'm still weighing my options. I'm leaning towards trying a different brand.

I received this mixer for Christmas 2007. I do not do a lot of baking so it was hardly used. I went to use it the other day and it would not turn on. I have never had a mixer this bad. It also does not have the speed that my old hand mixer did. I wish I had not given my old one away. I will not replace this one with another KitchenAid.
