This is a wonderful blender. I love not having to take apart the container to clean. Just put a bit of soap in when done using and turn on for a sec. to clean off blades and WHA-LA rinse the rest and done! I did my home work before buying by the way...Heard a great review on T.V. and checked it out.
It has the largest container ever, crushes ice for drinks, and you can puree with it. I can't say enough. I actually bought one for myself and after a party one of my friends asked If I would order one for her in the same red color. She loves hers as well. You can't go wrong with Kitchen Aid in my opinion. I also purchased a KitchenAid KP26M1XRC Professional 600, 6-Quart Mixer in red. I have had three mixers in the past 35 yrs. and they are work horses. Have passed down two to my daughter.

This KitchenAid in Empire Red is beautiful! I was worried about getting this brand because of previous reviews I read on line about the defective coupler but apparently KitchenAid claims this problem has been resolved in the newer models. One of the newer models according to KitchenAid is KSB540 (for the 3 speed). I am not sure of the model numbers in the 5 speed models but you can easily check the KitchenAid web site. I have made several fruit smoothies and margaritas so far and it crushes ice and frozen fruit in seconds. This blender has A LOT of power and is worth every penny. I picked this up at my local Target store on sale. The pulse button is awesome!

When I bought this blender I received a rebate with it. That was my incentive to buy it knowing it wasn't costing the full price. Well, when I made my first frozen drink I knew this one was it. Perfect every time. The container is so easy to clean with no parts to remove. The ice crusher is great for the grandkids to make snow cones with. I chose the Empire Red color. Festive, don't you think. I have recommended this to all my friends and wanted to share it with others. You will not be disappointed with this blender. Go Kitchenaid!

Bought it for my wife who has always wanted a larger and more powerful blender. This KA model fills the bill nicely.

It is sleek and stylish yet large and very powerful. It does make a great milk shake so I consider it money well spent.

I use my blender several times a day to make protein shakes with ice. In the last 2 1/2 years I've killed two blenders. I think I'll have to work really hard to kill this one. It is more powerful than my last two put together. It chews through ice like butter. Once all the ice is crushed and I use the higher speeds, my protein shake starts getting thicker and thicker. I love the big pitcher too. I wondered if I'd like a plastic pitcher vs a glass one, but it really cleans easier and is so nice and big. Highly recommend this blender.

I was looking for a blender that would crush ice and make great smoothies. Well, this is perfect! I put ice cubes in, and hit the pulse button three times and I have snow. Then I put my smoothie ingredients in and turn it on high for about a minute and I have the most delicious smoothie!

The only thing I wish is that it had come with a recipe book, but I posted on KitchenAid's Facebook page and the company posted a link on their site for recipes.

I'd buy this blender again in a heartbeat!

I bought this to replace a Black & Decker blender that was horrible and broke. This one is a vast improvement. Makes short work of ice for smoothies. I've owned about 6 blenders, this one's the best so far.

I immediately liked the color and style of this blender until I turned it on, so terribly loud it is offensive. Not only that, and I have read reviews after my purchase, the plastic jar has tiny little cracks on it and is leaking after 2 months of use. I only use the blender once per days and may include some frozen fruit in the smoothie. I understand that this is a design flaw so am trying to contact the manufacturer for either a replacement jar (most likely will crack again) or a different glass blender. Buyer beware on this one!!!

Simple and up to the task. Do I need ten levels of puree? No. This has all I need (all I think any blender needs) - three speeds plus pulse.

PROS: Large capacity, easy to clean - really! Not just the container but the base, no tricky nooks for food to get trapped and gross. Solid - secure on counter. Loud but not irritating. Killer ice crusher. Great for smoothies. I probably will buy a second for another home.

CONS: The lid - hard to put on tempting you to take shortcuts which become messy. Duh!

1.5 years old and motor has burnt out. This kitchen aid was under-utilized by being used for making smoothies (frozen strawberries at times). I'm shocked and disapointed. this is a lot of $$ invested and down the drain.
