We bought a KitchenAid two years ago and use it all the time. Mixing cookie dough or whipping cream is a breeze. It's solid and stable (won't tip) and is well made. We've never had a problem. Lot's of accessories are available, but it's the basics you'll really appreciate.

I always wanted to check one of this things out, but found that the price was a bit steep thats until I got an Amazon Gold Box offer and I decided to take the plunge.

As soon as I got the mixer I took it out, hand washed the bowls and the attachments (everything is dishwasher safe, except the whip attachment) and I was ready to go.

So far, after 5 loaf of bread, 12 pizzas, and dozens of cookies Im still looking for more stuff to do.

The set includes a handy booklet that has some great recipes.

I have practically everything that KitchenAid makes. They are, without a doubt, the most beautiful kitchen appliances you can ever own. I leave them on the counter so they'll be easy to get to, and also because they look so darned good! (Mine are Empire Red.) They are so well made and durable. I will never have to buy another mixer, toaster, blender or food processor again! Did I mention EASY to use? And the mixer is so versatile with all the attachments. You can grate cheese, stuff sausage, make pasta, or knead dough - all with one machine! I highly recommend anything these folks make.
