My wife has been wanting a mixer like this for years. So i bought this for her Birthday this year. It was so hard not to tell her what i got her & it was funny because she was tring to guess what it was & she said i have no idea what you got me because i have everything i need & want. Then i said i know what you need & you want what i got you. Ever since we got married she would point these mixers out everytime we were at a store so good thing i paid attention all these years. She has a blue kitchen & has the paula deen cookware set in Robin Egg Blue & for those of you that know that product this mixer is allmost a dead on match to that color. She was in shock when she opened it & said OMG you had to spend about $300! She knows her stuff huh? Now from speaking with my wife she loves it & say's it is very powerful & only has to use it on the first two speed settings so far. But i'm Happy she's happy. And for the rest of you wife's out there! Even though we look like were not paying attention we are we just dont want you to know it. : )

I did a lot of research on different brand name mixers. After comparing, I decided on the KitchenAid Artisan Mixer. Once I settled on the model, I had to make sure I got the right color. When I was ready to purchase, the Martha Stewart Blue Collection wasn't available. I was pretty bummed out and ALMOST bought the mixer in Ice. Luckily, Macy's had the Martha Stewart restocked so I snagged one right away. The color is lovely. Glad I got it!

The mixer is great - sturdy, mixes with ease. My hands are free to work on other things! I've had my mixer for about 3 months now and have used it frequently. No problems to report. No matter your color of choice, I recommend the Artisan mixer.

Some years back Martha put out a mixer called Martha Stewart green, which was beautiful, it was very close to the vintage jadite in color. I could kick myself cos' I didn't get it. This time I saw her Martha blue, and it's absolutely beautiful in person, after some "subtle" hints, my husband purchased it for me, and I couldn't be happier, it's super powerful. I've made many things with my mixer, but the best part is that it is gorgeous and I am happy every time I see it on my counter.

It's beautiful and powerful, but I miss the old Kitchenaid design that used glass bowls. The handle on my steel bowl is useful, though I'd much prefer a smooth base to the interior like those glass bowls had. I noticed while mixing cake batter and frosting some of the ingredients would get stuck in the circular divet at the bowl's bottom. It's not the fault of the mixing attachment, it's a design flaw. Even if batter isn't sticking to the side, you'll have to open the neck of the mixer and use a spatula to loosen what's stuck on the bottom. Also, the bowl's locking mechanism works a bit too well. At one point we had one person holding down the base while the other struggled to remove the bowl.

That said, I love the color and the machine's power. I even have the matching blender. I'm sure both will be with me for many years to come.

A note on shipping: this was sent with no additional packaging beyond the foam securing the mixer and its parts. Because of this, and because it said KITCHENAID all over the box, it was completely obvious what was contained within. I live in an apartment buliding where mail is left in a shared area and prefer more discrete packaging, especially for such an expensive item. All parts are intact as far as I can tell, but definitely check them upon receipt.

My new KA Artisan mixer is beautiful and obviously made very well to last, much like an old classic car. The paint job is amazing, it looks as if it may have even been powder coated. The stainless bowl that comes with it is also made very well. I considered purchasing one of those cloth covers, but it just looks too darn good to cover up. The KA stand mixer would look great in any kitchen. It made pizza dough with ease and seriously cut my cookie dough time in half. I did plenty of research before making my purchase. One of the senior volunteers at the hospital told me she has actually owned her kitchen aid stand mixer since 1957, and still currently uses it today. I even received a $30.00 rebate in the mail today from KA,for the purchase of my new stand mixer. I figured if Kitchen Aid was good enough for the Neelys, Martha Stewart, Rachael Ray, and "The Pioneer Woman" Ree Drummond...then it had to be good enough for me.

What can I say it's a kitchenaid in a perfect shade, same great quality, in fun colors to brighten up any kitchen and manages all my cooking and baking needs. Sold my white one for nearly the same price I paid for it 7 years later, and was still In great shape!
