the "chocolate" color,

I agree with all the positive reviews about how wonderful this mixer is, so I will not repeat any of that. Rather, I feel compelled to give some information about the "chocolate" color.
I didn't know Kitchenaid made a brown Artisan mixer until I saw one on another website a few months ago. I really liked it, and wanted one, so when it became available at amazon.com, I grabbed it. Amazon.com's picture for the "chocolate" mixer is for a black mixer. I don't know why they did this. I keep waiting for them to correct their mistake. The "chocolate" mixer isn't black, folks. It truly is a very dark chocolate brown. Think Nestle's Toll House semi-sweet morsels. If you want a brown mixer, you will be getting one if you order the "chocolate" color.

I don't often cook for a crowd or make large batches of things. Some appliances do things so well that they could be labeled "essential" and that's exactly what this mixer is.
Mixing, kneading, or whipping, the results are excellent. I use my artisan at least once a week. I was amazed the first time I whipped cream in it, perfect results and almost supervision free. If you make bread or cakes it is absolutly a must. It's no secret that there is one of these mixers (or one just like it) in every professional kitchen around the world. You may call kneading dough by hand "artisan bread" but that tedious task is performed equelly well (if not better) by this machine. Of course like anything, you can do without it. You could also start a fire in your back yard and cook over to too but I'm not ready for that either.

Works fine....,

This is a great thing but is little over-priced. I mostly use it to make dough for tortillas/Rotis and it does a great job as compared to other products which shakes or make noise while doing this heavy task of kneading dough.
