Brunch waffles without the hotel room...,

I had been using a Vitantonio Belgian waffle maker for about 20 years (originally for about 100 bucks). It was a great waffle iron. Then it stopped working -- none to be had of its quality anywhere (V. is no longer in business, and even the successor line didn't have one of this quality). The Kitchenaid Waffle Baker seemed a dream come true. Unfortunately, the going price of $300 seemed pretty pricey. No better deals anywhere. Did some investigation -- took a few months to convince my spouse, and I got a birthday present. Now to the substance: It's awesome. Well made. Constant temperature waffler with an accurate timing system. The waffles came out perfetcly the first time. I used to need Pam to be sure I could get a waffle out -- not so here. A little nudge, and they come out without sticking, splitting, or tearing. The system retains your timing information so once you converge on the proper time, you're set. Waffles were uniformly cooked across and through the waffle -- no major excesses on the edges -- round is better than rectangular for appearances. Clean up was also pretty easy. A damp towel (when it's cool) gets everything. A little difficult on some of the seams, but pretty clean nevertheless. The first waffle I overfilled a bit -- ok -- a lot. This still didn't present problems. I have had a Kitchenaid K5A mixer for about 30 years and it works flawlessly still. I assume the waffler will have the same long life. Its solid construction, and artistically nice appearance, make this a standout. My daughter says I should leave it on the counter so guests will be dazzled since it looks so cool. Save you money and get it -- then you'll probably have waffles other than at brunch.

I've had my eye on this machine for about 2 years (whenever it came out) and never felt I could justify spending SO much for a "uni-tasker", but with the sale price I thought I'd try it. My only other waffle iron was the Disney winnie the Pooh one, which didn't end up getting used much- the waffles just weren't that great. I just opened this one, tried it, and it made PERFECT waffles just like at restraunts/hotels- it blows my other maker out of the water. And it is attractive enough to leave out on the counter, which means I think I'll use it more b/c it is in eyesight. Can't speak for durability, but it is hefty and feels like it will outlast me. I'm glad I tried this and my kids are thrilled to have something other than Eggo waffles. I would buy it again. Highly recommended.

Spending $300 for a waffle baker was no easy decision. When It arrived I was thrilled with the overall look and quality of the unit, but the real test would be the first batch of waffles. WOW! I don't see how they could have been better. Two waffles every 3 1/2 minutes. Perfectly cooked. Clean up takes just seconds. KitchenAid did it again with a real winner.Update Jan 2006 (one year later): Hundreds of waffles later this machine has not missed a beat. Perfect every time. Look no further, this is the one to buy.

I love this waffle baker. The waffles were perfect on the first try. We had a meal ready in under 15 minutes. If you have kids they will remember these waffles for the rest of their lives...you can probably pass this machine on to them! It weighs a ton and looks like it will last for decades. Treat yourself. Worth every penny at twice the price.

Our family uses our waffle maker at least one time a week. I purchased this machine from amazon last valentines day for my wife. She was pleased. Our favorite is whole wheat pancakes. It takes 3 min 45 sec at 4500ft altitude to make 2 waffles. The kids put bluberies in the holes. The prices was $300 and I would buy again for that price. Customer service has been great. The only flaw in the unit is the nob to control the time to cook the waffles. It is made of cheap plastic and sticks out. The first time it broke was when my wife picked up the machine and bumbed the nob. We called Kitchen Aid the they sent us a new unit. "We just wanted to get a new nob." We sent the old one back and a couple weeks later I broke the nob on the new unit pushing the machine on the counter. Use caution when moving the machine. All said, I am glad we have this waffle maker. We also have the Kitchen Aid Pro mixer & pasta plates. Wonderful. Prefer it over the Stainless Steel Bosch from Costco. Kitchen Aid customer service has done a good job! 5/21/08 About three years and we still use this unit a couple of times a week. The kids love the waffles and they are easier to make than pancakes. I am difinitely glad we own this waffle maker. Note: I have used the waffle maker in hotels and the Kitchen Aid unit works just as well or better. Remember you can make two waffles at a time.

Now that's a Belgian Waffle!,

I've had many waffle makers over the years...regular and Belgian. I've always been disappointed in them regardless of brand, cost and/or glowing reviews...over the years. After at least 10 years without one, I broke down and bought this KitchenAid Pro Line waffle baker because my daughter has been bugging me for homemade waffles. Of course, after ordering this, I went out and bought some Belgian Waffle mix. First two waffles went into the garbage...it's okay, that was recommended in the instructions! With fork, butter and syrup ready, I anxiously awaited the beeping of the timer letting me know the next two waffles were ready. Well, I was disappointed again and ready to pack it up and ship it back vowing to never buy another waffle baker again. Could have been me, the mix or the waffle maker, but they were too heavy, didn't taste good, weren't crisp and nothing like a restaurant waffle. My daughter wanted some the following week and I told her no, I was sending it back and there wasn't any Belgian waffle mix left anyway. She kept bugging me for them because there was nothing else to eat...poor starving thing! I said no again a couple of times before making her some using the Krusteaz Buttermilk PANCAKE Mix (waffle recipe)that I already had in the cupboard. Wow! Now I'm ready to open my own Waffle House. We had them three days in a row. Cooked just right and tasted delicious! I just had some this morning and my daughter wasn't even here. This is not just the best, but the only waffle maker I've ever been happy with. The recipe (just add water and oil...and thin batter is better than thick) is a snap and with two large waffles cooked to perfection at once, the whole family get's to eat breakfast together. Operation is easy with lights, dials, buttons and an adjustable timer making it child's play. Clean-up's a piece of cake...I use a pastry brush. It is pricey and heavy, but as you can tell, I highly recommend it. Goodbye Eggos!

Love the Waffle Maker,

This is awesome!!! Love It!!! It is so easy to use and it makes wonderful waffles. My teenage kids love it, too. They can use it because it is so easy. It is like having waffles from a restaurant. They love to have their friends over and make waffles and add strawberries and whipping cream. I definately would buy it. It will last for years and well worth the money.

I don't want to go overboard on this review but I will start by saying this is an excellent product. As a 40-something bachelor who couldn't cook to save his life I can't express my new confidence (false of course) in the kitchen after using my waffle maker! I have to admit I was drawn to this product because of its gorgeous Bauhaus looks but believe me, it's beautiful form follows it's excellent function capabilities. From the very first waffles I baked I acheived as close to waffle perfection that I have seen/tasted anywhere, including restuarant grade. You get what you pay for. Take care of this and many decades from now your progeny will remember you as they bite into maybe the best waffles they'll ever have.

Great aesthetics, but some problems,
This review is from: KitchenAid KTA-KPWB100PM Pro Line Waffle Baker, Pearl Metallic (Kitchen)
The unit is lovely and it makes a sunday breakfast a special ritual. Unfortunately it tends to bake one side of the waffle darker than the other, and after a while the rotating cooking surface no longer remains in a fully horizontal positon. Kitchen Aid backs it up, and will send you a new one immediately. But unfortunately, in our case, the two replacements suffered from similar problems. We have reached the point where we are no longer swapping waffle irons with kitchen aid and just remain slightly dissatisfied with the unit.

BRING ON THE WAFFLES,
By
This review is from: KitchenAid KTA-KPWB100PM Pro Line Waffle Baker, Pearl Metallic (Kitchen)
After shopping for over 2 years for a waffle baker and purchasing many $50 ones I decided to invest in one that would last and make restaurant type waffles. After receiving this waffle iron and using it a couple of times we have decided we can make even better waffles than our favorite weekend restaurant. Using a waffle mix and adding about a Tsp of lemon and lime juice, egg, milk, vanilla and a dash of cinnamon, setting the waffle baker at 3:30 the perfect waffle is baked. This baker is heavy, bakes two at once, and never have I had a waffle stick. We purchased our baker about 1 year ago. Even our neighbors will call and ask if they can come over for breakfast now, and their request is a waffle. Clean up is so easy, just wipe with a damp cloth. I only wish I had invested in this waffle baker 15 years ago!!! Next will be the pro line toaster! If you have doubts, please do not, this baker is well worth the money, you will not regret the purchase!
