This makes such a great chicken pot pie that I can't wait to try an apple pie made in this pan.
The crust gets crisp at a slightly lower temperature. It takes a little longer to cook, but with a deeper filling to heat any way, it works out well in concert. You'll want at least 2 of these pans; one for dinner and one to cook desert.

It's a great pan, very study, easy to wash, deeper than I expected. Great for large pies! Just for reference, I make apple pies in it, it takes about 6 average sized apples to fill the whole thing.
