5.0 out of 5 stars Best Tool I Have
I've never had a kitchen tool that is as handy as the KitchenAid Pasta Scoop. It's ideally sized for straining pasta, vegetables and stock. It's lightweight and cleans up much easier than a conventional colander. In fact, I just bought four more as gifts for friends and family.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pooper Scooper
Read the description: "Red, enamel-like handle". "enamel-LIKE". It's not enamel, as I found out to my cost when I left this scoop in the pan, and it melted all over my SMEG hob and ruined £1100 worth of fitted oven. Not good. I normally love KitchenAid products (apart from their baster) but give this one a big thumbs down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Handy, Well Made, January 23, 2007
This review is from: KitchenAid Pasta Scoop Colander, Red (Kitchen)
I love my KitchenAid Scoop Colander. It is perfect for straining and it makes lifting a heavy pot of boiling water obsolete. It's sturdy and well made like all KitchenAid products and I find myself looking for reasons to use it. It is a very handy thing to have around and you'll love how it saves time in the kitchen, not to mention it limits burns from scalding water. I really can't cook without my KitchenAid Colander

I love this colander. No more scrubbing the tiny mesh holes of a strainer. Picks up all the big pieces of chicken and vegetables after I make chicken soup and strains the soup. The flat edge is ingenious as you can scrape right to the side of the pot with no metal edges sticking out like a strainer has. It's news to me that the handle isn't enamel and I would never leave any utensil in a hot pot for an extended period of time. I have this utensil for 3 years and it still looks like new. Buy this and you'll wonder how you ever did without it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Colander!!, April 1, 2004

I ordered this item to go with the other matching Kitchenaid gadgets. Not sure of a real purpose for it, I grabbed the colander to use when I needed something strong and sturdy to take a whole chicken out of a pot of boiling water. Wow!! This colander can lift a complete chicken out of the water without any trouble. This is the best utensil I have for this task! It cleans up easily and looks great hanging on the wall along with the others gadgets that match. I am sure I will be using it for other difficult duties.

As usual, KitchenAid comes thru! This hand-held colander is the perfect size for the older cook. Easy to handle and easy on my old arthritic wrist. And it is good looking also. Wish I had invested in it sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars I had been looking for this pasta strainer!, June 10, 2007

I had seen this type of strainer used while in Italy and also on the Food Network shows a few times.

I searched all of the local kitchen shops to no avail.
Then I did a web search and found it through the Amazon site.

I was so pleased!

It's a great kitchen tool that works well for many foods in addition to pasta and is easy to clean.
Every kitchen should have one of these strainer/scoops!

Until I saw a cook use it on TV, I had no idea that something like this even existed. Then I absolutely HAD to have one. I do like it and it has been very useful. I wish that it was a bit smaller so that it could fit into smaller pots. It's great for removing veggies that you are blanching. It takes only seconds to scoop them from the boiling water and dump into to the prepared ice bath to stop the cooking. It's so much easier then lugging the heavy and hot pot of boiling water to the colander in the sink.
