This knife was my wife and my favorite for daily slicing of cheeses, fruits, and veggies. Knife was very sharp and seemed well built. I bought the knife 2 years ago and recently was slicing some medium density cheese when the knife blade broke from top to bottom about an inch from the top of the handle. I would've given this knife a 4 or 5 star rating if this didn't happen. I plan on bringing the knife back to a retailer (I don't rememeber where I bought it and don't have the receipt). If they allow me to exhange for another I will increase the rating.

I don't understand some of the reviews on these knives. Mine are well made, sharp and just the right sixe for a smaller hand. The sheaths are a plus to help keep the edge sharp and from cutting yourself when reaching for the knife. I am thinking of buying a few more sets as hostest gifts and wedding presents. Kitchenaid always produces a quality product.

I bought this set because it included the sheaths without having to buy them separately. I have the Victorinox Santoku 6" knife and wanted to add smaller sizes, liked the Santoku design, and like that they came with sheaths. The sizes are great but not nearly as sharp as the Victorinox.

I actually bought these knives from Target for a few bucks more. So buy them here and save. I absolutely just loves these knives. They came out of the package sharp as can be. They are soo sharp and cut with such ease. I use them to cut vegetables. And I just love that I have a protective cover for them to store them safetly. The holster fits very snug over the knives, no jiggling around. I rated them four stars because I think the only improvement would be to have a 7 inch knife too.

The make is awful. Besides being small, the cut is bad. Not only that, the knife came with dents. It is unfinished.
KitchenAid knew the equipment and thought they were a respectable company. However, the product is bad.
I felt disrespected as a consumer.

Do not buy.
