The break revealed that the metal from the blade is not one solid piece going all the way through the handle as it appears to be in these knives.

I bought these knifes about 2 weeks ago and they are awesome! They are nice and sharp, look nice in the kitchen and thanks to amazon the shipping was super fast. The only thing I would recommended is to hand wash knifes after use to as the instructions say to prevent rusting. Very happy with my purchase and would defiantly recommended these knifes to others.

I am no professional, and I have never worked in a professional kitchen.

That being said, I did not purchase these knives expecting the quality of a knife that would cost $200 per knife.

Ignoring the elitists, I purchased this set and I am incredibly happy with my decision. As an amateur foodie, I needed something better than the mess of random knives in my drawer and these are more than I would have hoped for.

Out of the box they are razor sharp, and excellent build quality. They are no Wustoff but again, for the price these are excellent. They cut through everything with ease, and sharpening them takes literally 10 seconds, so I didn't feel the need to complain about this.

If you are just using them in your home kitchen, and you do not cook professionally - these area perfect buy.

Also use your brain; don't assume that something like this is dishwasher safe, because no knife set is.

I originally purchased this as a gift for my partner, however, I find myself using them more than he does. I will say that I own a set of Cuisinart knives and this compares exactly. So you could save yourself money by choosing this product instead.

Had the handle break off on one of these while cutting through a block of cheese. The break revealed that the metal from the blade is not one solid piece going all the way through the handle as it appears to be in these knives. The metal in the handle is only connected to the blade by about 1/16" on each side.

Very disappointed with my Kitchen Aid Knives. Very cheaply made, dull out of the box, and sharpening makes little difference.
After trying several kitchen Aid products over the past few years, I realized that THE ONLY GOOD PRODUCT KITCHEN-AID MAKES IS THEIR MIXER! That's it.
The coffee pots we & family had purchased broke within about a year, the toaster oven is breaking now at about a year and a half, and the knives are worse than bargain no name brands. Even the can opener we bought broke after a few uses.
We have learned our lesson and AVOID Kitchen Aid products now! Truly awful!
Spend the money & get a good set of J.A. HENCKELS INTERNATIONAL knives; thank goodness I kept all my old ones!

Hard to complain when one spends so little, but these knives don't hold their edge nearly as well as I'd like, so they end up dull. They are not as rigid as I'd prefer (a little flimsy) and the wooden handles mean that you can't put them in the dishwasher, which is more troublesome than I anticipated. First world problems, I know. If I had it to do again, I would probably buy a different set; but these are not so bad that I've tried to replace them.

quality of the knives are pretty good, but they are all starting to get slowly rusted :-(, which is no fun.
