I am very pleased with it's performance.

My new disposer carries a longer warranty, and from what I'm reading from others, this should last much longer and out-perform the other brand.

A lot different than the old Insinkerator and a lot better as well.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )

The old InSinkErator BADger 5 plus had to go. I was tired of our dysfunctional noisy grinder, and constant drain clogs from the most basic vegetable scraps. I researched reviews, consulted the consumer reports website, and decided to purchase the economical and highly rated Waste King L-8000 Legend Series 1.0-Horsepower Continuous Feed Waste Disposer. The Waste King L-8000 was a big improvement which eliminated the drain clogs and worked efficiently well. However it was still noisy, but was much quieter than the old BADger 5 plus.

Even though I was satisfied with the Waste King L-8000, I was curious how a disposal with virtually the same basic stats at almost twice the price would compare. The KitchenEater KE1PC 1 HP Garbage Disposer, made in China, offers quieter sound technology and includes a stylish metal drain cover. The Waste King L-8000 claims to be the most environmentaly responsible unit on the market today, and includes a removable splash guard. Both disposals offer 1 HP - 2800 rmp continuous feed magnetic motors, stainless steel grinding components, integrated power cord, sound insulation, online animated installation guides, fast and easy installation, safe for properly sized septic tanks, a lifetime in-home warranty, and are manufactured by Anaheim Manufacturing Company. It seems as though the functioning components are identical in both models.

Installation of the KitchenEater KE1PC required purchasing plumber's putty which is more of an annoyance than anything else. After all, the Waste King L-8000 at close to half the price required no putty or additional purchases for installation.

I purchased this product online after consistently having problems with my Badger 5 from Insinkerator, as I'd noticed some consistently good reviews for other brands. I'm delighted I did so, as this was significantly better than the product that it replaced.

The product was very easy to install, and runs much quieter than the model it replaced. Better yet, it seems much more powerful, and I'm no longer afraid to put heavy duty food down my drain.

Though they include full flange in the enclosed mounting system, I realized that it mounted right on the existing flange, saving me installation time.

I've replaced a number of Insinkerator disposers through the years, and have grown tired of having to do this. My new disposer carries a longer warranty, and from what I'm reading from others, this should last much longer and out-perform the other brand.

I also researched and found out that this product is significantly lower in price than the Insinkerator 1 HP model that is selling at my local Home Depot, and as far as I can see, it's a better model at lower cost. As I see it, I have a better unit and saved myself more than $100.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Have had a flurry of failed garbage disposals lately.. First one was just last month. Ah, the JOY of Christmas....But then I got rid of my old unit that I had already replaced 3 times from Insinkerator. You probably know the one too. The good old Badger 5! So in a fit of "I have had ENOUGH", I switched over to a Waste King L-8000 Legend Series 1.0-Horsepower Continuous Feed Waste Disposer. You can see my review of it on that page. When my plumber arrived he told me he has NEVER seen one of these Waste Kings (of this model) EVER fail. So we have now had it a month. A lot different than the old Insinkerator and a lot better as well. But that is another review.

Getting to this item. I just installed it in our desert place since that old Badger died also. Putting in this one was as easy as any other. First thing you like is the lifetime home warranty. Of course I have no idea how or IF they honor it when the time comes yet? Noise is a little louder than my new Waste King, maybe about the same as my Badger? Performance is definitely NOT up to par with our new Waste King but still is great, no problems, just not as efficient and again, noisier. It seems to bog down quite a bit more than the Waste King as well. But it gets the job done just fine with no hit of being any problem at all. All 3 machines just have a different "sound" and since 2 of these machines are new sounds to me, it will simply take some time to get to know them well.

I give this 4 stars to begin due to it's high cost, more noise than my new Waste King, and it's seemingly less powerful motor (but both rated at 1 HP???).

I've had my kitchen eater 1 Horsepower Disposer now for a bit. I am very pleased with it's performance. The claim that it has 2800 RPM must be true because this thing grinds up whatever I put down there. My old badger seemed like it would just swirl stuff around and start smelling after it sat down there. Installation was very easy . I've never installed one before , but luckily I just took off the old disposer and left the mount I already had , and put the new one on. This really is a good deal since it has the sound insulation and 1 HP motor. I looked at some other disposers and they were much higher priced. So far, so good. GREAT BUY
