No room for our ice chest bottles.

The cardboard was unnecessary and had to be ripped off in order to clean it. when the cardboard was removed there was dust caked up, preventing all airflow.

After looking at the product we selected the Kitchenaid because we thought it was a strong brand.

The worst part of the fridge which makes it destined for failure is the location of the condenser. Underneath the fridge, and below the condenser is an unnecessary piece of cardboard which holds an uncanny amount of dust.
In order to perform preventative maintenance on this fridge me and another two other individuals had to lift it up and support the unit on 2x4s first two inches up, then four inches off the ground. The cardboard was unnecessary and had to be ripped off in order to clean it. when the cardboard was removed there was dust caked up, preventing all airflow.
Such design of the condensing coil is really setting this unit up for extra strain on the compressor, waste of energy, and ultimately a costly compressor failure. They figure if you'll fork out 3 grand for a fridge, you'll probably be able to afford another one in a couple years when this one breaks.

The refrigeration aspects works well. The amount of storage is compromised by the compartments, and my wife complains about the lack of space constantly.

the ice machine is a little slow. When entertaining any more than 3 guests you will run out of ice, so I suggest freezing some for such occasions.

After looking at the product we selected the Kitchenaid because we thought it was a strong brand. Three months after delivery the stainless steel door began showing rust spots. I called the company and was told they could do nothing for me because it was "cosmetic" and not covered. I escalated the problem as high as I could with the same answer - cosmetic, not covered. This is a bad product and Kitchenaid is a poor company. Stay away from their products!

Has multiple cracks of the interior liner after only 3 years. Icemaker lousy. Storage and temperature cause wife to be aggravated

Worst thing is the drone idiot "service" which just repeats the same line like robots. They do not care and will not help even though it is under warranty! They act like they are programmed to find any reason to deny restoring the product to acceptable condition.

Bought this fridge September 2012 and finally replaced it with one that works much better for us. We (there are only two of us with occasional guests) found this one too small for our needs considering that we like lots of fresh food and tend to cook all 3 meals at home most of the time. The fridge was always too crammed. The other thing that we found annoying was the lower drawer access requires that you open both french doors. The clear lid on the drawer can easily crack if you drop something on it. The temp readout can only be seen if you push several buttons first. It would be helpful if the temps could always be displayed. Minimal freezer storage. No room for our ice chest bottles. Otherwise, it worked fine, cooled down quickly and was fairly quiet.

I was so disappointed to read the poor reviews on this refrigerator. This is the one I thought I wanted. We have always had KitchenAid appliances, but I must say the last refrigerator was replaced after about two years by the company (thank goodness we had the insurance and a very persistent serviceman)because of severe cracking of the liner. I have a feeling that the reviewer that complained of the problem with this refrigerator was told, as I was, "this is the first time we've ever heard of this problem". The new one has done the same thing, but not as bad. It seems like the quality and service for this product has really gone down.
