1.0 out of 5 stars Broken after 2 years, October 23, 2011
This review is from: Kitchenaid KHMS2056SSS 2.0 cu. ft. Capacity 1,200 Watts Architect Series II
I purchased this microwave from Pacific sales in May of 2009. In Aug 2011 the microwave began sparking on the inside (arcing) and made loud popping noises. I called Kitchenaid, who sent a repair service ($129 cost to me) who said I would have to replace it. Kitchenaid wanted a second opinion so they sent someone else, who also said it was a fire hazard and would have to be replaced. Kitchenaid said the problem is not under warranty. They offered to replace it for a cost to me of $525 (in addition to $129 for the service charge by the repair company). I will never buy Kitchenaid/Whirlpool again, given a dangerous microwave that broke in two years. Buyer beware!
