5.0 out of 5 stars Best I've found so far
I've tried many poly cutting boards, and this is definitely the best I've found so far. I really like the rubberized handles, which prevents the board from sliding on the countertop. This is much more effective than boards with little rubber feet, which can wobble and get in the way. It's hard to go wrong with KitchenAid!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this cutting board
As the other posters have said, they're not kidding about that glue. Don't buy this board. It looks very nice, but after scrubbing with sponges, soaking in hot water overnight, putting it through the dishwasher a couple times, etc, I cannot remove 4 sticky wads of glue (two on each side). DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BUYING THIS THING.

4.0 out of 5 stars It really is non-slip, June 27, 2004
This review is from: Kitchenaid Poly Board Blue 11 Inch x 14 Inch (Kitchen)
Yes, the label is held on the board with a glue that resists all efforts to remove it; that's true. But I figure that if it won't come off after dedicated scrubbing, it won't come off on my food, either. (There goes one point; you'd think KitchenAid would fix this really dumb error.)

However, the cutting board is excellent in all other respects. It's a good size (neither too big nor too small), fits in the dishwasher with no fuss, and -- as advertised -- just doesn't slip around on my marble countertop, even when the surfaces are wet. The handle is nice for grabbing the board from across the kitchen, but it's also surprisingly helpful as a mini-drop spot for, say, dumping the garlic skins temporarily while I chop garlic.

I think I have 3 or 4 chopping boards, both wooden and poly. This one immediately became my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little cutting board., April 10, 2004

This is very light (I hang it from my towel hooks) and the handle makes it very easy to pick up and to hang. It is sturdy - has stood up very well to my meat cleaver! It's easy to clean, also. It's attractive too.

4.0 out of 5 stars My favorite cutting board, September 9, 2004

This review is from: Kitchenaid Poly Board Blue 11 Inch x 14 Inch (Kitchen)
Of all the cutting boards I have, this one is the one I reach for most often. It's easy to clean, an excellent cutting surface that I am confident using my expensive knives on, doesn't slip, and is easy to lift and carry when I'm done cutting and ready to cook. The 11x14 size is good - not so big as to be bulky, but big enough not to be cramped when working with one or two ingredients. If I can find the next larger size in stock, I will also be picking up one of those as well, but avoid the 8x11 board. It is simply too small to use comfortably.

My only complaint is that which other reviewers have mentioned. The glue they use to affix the label to the board (not sure why it has to be glued on when the entire thing is shrinkwrapped) is nearly impossible to get off completely. A good scrubbing and a trip through the dishwasher and you'll be safe from glue in your food, but you're likely to have a cosmetic reminder of the glue for the life of the board (my glue residue turned green from the sponge I was using to scrub).

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Cutting Board, June 25, 2005

This review is from: Kitchenaid Poly Board Blue 11 Inch x 14 Inch (Kitchen)
I bought this as a replacement for a larger wood board and was concerned when it arrived that it might be too small. Actually this is the perfect size board for chopping veggies and then adding them to soup, stew, whatever. My other board was too large and I always had to use a scraper to get the ingredients from the board into the pot. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the sticky decal comes off if you soak the glue in oil. I soaked mine in olive oil (I just grabbed the nearest thing) and it came off easily and completely. This board is also reversible, which is nice if you need to avoid mixing the taste of something, but don't want to hassle with cleaning it. Just flip it over real quick and cut your next item. It goes in the dishwasher without a hitch (unlike my wood boards.) It also doesn't slip on your countertop. All in all this has become my favorite cutting board.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Label Adhesive?!, October 13, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This cutting board is wonderful. I used it today to cut tomatoes and it didn't even stain. Hopefully it will stay that way. As for the glue holding the label on...they may have corrected the problem. Mine (which I ordered in the beginning of September) came with the labels attached with tape and it peeled right off, no problem. I like how it looks so much, I just leave it out on the counter next to the sink so it's always ready to use. I'd highly recommend this item.

The board is quite serviceable, attractive and easy to handle. The cutting surface is actually about 11x11. The blue ends, which prevent the board from slipping while in use, feel like they are hard rubber and do their job very well. Thanks to other reviewers, I did not waste time trying to soak off the decals. I simply, but carefully, used a razor blade type scraper which is normally used to remove similar decals and paint spots from windows and window shields. Worked nicely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glue is annoying, but the board is fine., December 31, 2004
This review is from: Kitchenaid Poly Board Blue 11 Inch x 14 Inch (Kitchen)
The non-slip cutting board gets the job done; it really doesn't slip, at least not on our granite countertop. To take the glue off the cutting board, soak the glue spots in vegetable oil a few times. It does come off eventually.

Fantastic cutting board. Stable, doesn't slide around on the counter and if using for meat just throw in the dishwasher when you are done.
