5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious honey muffins
I have used this only once and it outperformed my standard metal muffin pans. This was tested by creating a batch of honey muffin batter, oiling two metal pans and this silicone pan, filling them each with the batter. After visually inspecting and taste testing the muffins, the dozen baked in the silicone pan were far better in appearance and taste than their metal...

First of all I gave it one star because it would not let me continue if I put nothing. It deserves no stars. I purchased this item after seeing similar ones on the Today show a while back. I have used this only once and it outperformed my standard metal muffin pans. This was tested by creating a batch of honey muffin batter, oiling two metal pans and this silicone pan, filling them each with the batter. After visually inspecting and taste testing the muffins, the dozen baked in the silicone pan were far better in appearance and taste than their metal counterparts. I will gladly amend this review should it not perform equally well with a cake batter.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, December 14, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Kitchenaid Wire Sled With 12 Cup Muffin Pan, Silicone, Blue (Kitchen)
First of all I gave it one star because it would not let me continue if I put nothing. It deserves no stars. I purchased this item after seeing similar ones on the Today show a while back. This product was nothing like what I saw. I baked some cupcakes and could tell right away they were not going to pop right out. They were entirely stuck in the pan and you can't really pry them out because you will damage the pan. So I ended up with a dozen cup cake tops (I am not kidding). I called the 800 number which was a joke. One lady told my to grease the muffin pan. Then why purchase this? You can do that with a $5.00 muffin pan at Walmart. And another lady told me that they had had problems with them and that they weren't KitchenAid products, they only put their name on them. She suggested I return it. I returned it to Amazon and received a full refund.
Don't waste your money as these are very expensive. Buy a cheap one and continue to use the muffin papers or buy a regular nonstick one and spray lightly with Pam.

4.0 out of 5 stars good new technology, December 27, 2005
This review is from: Kitchenaid Wire Sled With 12 Cup Muffin Pan, Silicone, Blue (Kitchen)
The Good: even heating & I have yet to burn anything even the edges, the muffins came out pretty easily as long as I gave a few minutes of cooling time (tempting not to since you want to bake batch #2 asap), moderately priced, easy cleanup, flexible & lightweight for storage.
The Bad: be careful...silicone is super-flexible material, so it would be easy to spill if you didn't support the pan from both ends properly. I can't comment on if the sled helps because I got mine before the sled came out.
Overall: I strongly recommend to anyone who is willing to try something a little different and who wants to make good, harder-to-burn muffins. This is a good product for bakers willing to give this a chance.
No comment as to duration of abuse this will handle since I've only had it for a few months.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, March 16, 2006
This review is from: Kitchenaid Wire Sled With 12 Cup Muffin Pan, Silicone, Blue (Kitchen)
I have had my pan for about 3 weeks and I love it. I have not had a bad experience yet! I bake a batch of muffins almost every morning and they always come out just perfect. I have the sled with mine and I recommend it highly. I think anyone who doesn't have the sled would find they enjoy their pan much better with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Muffin Pan!, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Kitchenaid Wire Sled With 12 Cup Muffin Pan, Silicone, Blue (Kitchen)
I love this muffin pan! There is no need to grease it, and the muffins come out beautifully - nothing sticks!

This is my first silicon bakeware purchase - I was hesitant to buy silicon for a long time - I'm always suspicious of "weird chemical stuff". But then I figured - teflon is a controvercial chemical too, and I use it all the time, so why not give silicon a try. And I'm glad I did!

There was no weird smells or aftertaste, the muffins were absolutely normal. Also, the wire sled makes it really easy to put this pan in and out of the oven. To wash this pan, I just stick it in the dishwasher - so easy!

I am now using this muffin pan all the time, and my old teflon muffin pan is gathering dust. No more greasing, paper liners and hand-washing!

Not entirely non-stick. Had a mess with banana muffins. Sled is a real help.

This works great as long as you use cooking spray in it.

I've used my pan twice before reviewing. The first time was corn muffins and they came out really well. They muffins popped out with ease.

The second time I made lemon cupcake with white chocolate chips, and it was harder. The pan was hard to transport to the oven full of batter. Halfway through baking, the batter drips onto the oven floor, causing me to put a muffin tin under the pan. When baked and cooled, the cupcakes broke while popping out.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Pan - Does not do what it claims., December 26, 2003
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kitchenaid Wire Sled With 12 Cup Muffin Pan, Silicone, Blue (Kitchen)
I totally agree with the previous reviewer. This pan is terrible. I also ended up with only tops. I suppose you could put paper muffin cups in, but what would be the point of buying this pan then??? Also, these do not nest like a regular metal pan (the sled takes up a lot of room). DO NOT BUY THIS!

Works like magic. Bakes muffins perfectly without burning them (amazing for me). Muffins came out very easily after cooling for a couple of minutes. Highly recommended.
