Bad experience for me. The plastic gear parts broke on my initial use. Otherwise it seems like it would be a decent product. Seller asked me to take down my initial review, as he wanted to make it right with me. I did so within minutes of receiving the request. Felt like I did my part. However, months later I'm still without a replacement parts and the seller is not responding to my emails. Feels like he just wanted me to remove my negative rating. My experience of a broken part was made worse by mismanaged expectations regarding the resolution.

Went ahead and bought the LEM version -- almost identical. It works perfectly.

Plastic handle broke March 17, 2011
It worked great out of the box but then the handle snap because it is made out of plastic. Get the LEM which is made of all metal parts.

So I looked around at various machines and attachments for food processors, meat grinders with sausage stuffing tubes and various other gadgets but I wasn't impressed with the reviews.
Finally a friend brought around his 5lb Kitchener sausage stuffer, that he'd never used and wanted to try out.
Well both being novices, we were worried about what problems we'd run into. It so happens there weren't any!
o - The Kitchener sausage stuffer worked a treat.
o - It's easy to take apart and easy to clean.
o - There's hardly any sausage left in the machine (pretty much just the sausage tube) which we push through by hand with the help of a large round end of a wooden spoon.
o - The hog casings go on easily to the tubes with no damage to casings.
o - Smooth action handle allowing the correct "pace" to stuff them cases.
o - No trapped air due to the relief valve
o - Small enough to store and cool in fridge yet big enough to do (of course) 5lb of sausages!

x - It does need to be clamped to a surface (I just clamp to a cleaned kitchen work surface) and you'll need some food grade lubricant for the o ring on the lid.
x - You should hand wash only (I couldn't find any info on dishwasher proof) which makes cleaning more of a chore if you are used to throwing everything in a dishwasher!

Overall I've made 30lb of sausage in the last couple of weeks and the Kitchener Sausage Stuffer has been great.
Highly recommended if you are doing lots of different styles of sausages in small batches. If you are making 20-100lbs of sausages every week you'll need something bigger and a lot more expensive!!!
