5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
Extremely well crafted paste to make biryani. we made veg biryani, was super tasty... can be a little on the spicier side so use more rice to dull the effect. the taste is superb, very high quality ingredients. one of the finest biryanis I have ever eaten

2.0 out of 5 stars I really don't like this
I love the other Kitchens of India products but this one I just don't like. The taste is kind of like when you accidentally bite a bay leaf. kind of bitter. With the other reviews on here it's gotta be my tastebuds, but others agreed with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best out there, June 28, 2008

Kitchen of India is on of the best Indian "frozen" foods. I have tried a lot of these packet Indian Foods like MTR, ASHOKA, etc but this is the best tasting product out there.. If you don't wanna cook at home and still want an Indian meal this is the best out there.. The Best i like is Dal Bhukara and Rajma, Also biryani is good too. You cant eat these all the time as it has high sodium content..

I've already reordered this item twice. I like the taste of it. It has the right amount of spice and can be used to make veg briyani if your not very fond of chicken(I tried both). One of the best products from KoI. Recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars as good as Indian restaurant dishes, March 10, 2009
This review is from: Kitchens Of India Curry Paste For Hyderabadi Biryani, 3.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I agree with others that the one or 2 negative reviews amidst all the glowing reviews for each and every Kitchen of India product might be planted by Indian restaurant owners. They are that good. As a lifelong vegetarian I've eaten lots of Indian food at both high end and family style Indian restaurants in New York City. These products are as good as any Indian food I've had. The only exception is the one curry containing spinach because I think spinach gets bitter once prepared. All of the others are excellent. It's hard to believe something this good can come in a freeze dried pouch.
As an added bonus it can be stored in the pantry.

The sauce mix makes a delicious curry dish whether you use meat or go vegetarian with chick peas or lentils. Unfortunately, I ordered 2 boxes of Curry Paste for Hyderabadi Biryani and got 1 box with the second box being Sauce for Vegetable Biryani. Not the same thing. Hope you don't have that problem.

Kitchens Of India Curry Paste For Hyderabadi Biryani is awesome. It gives the same exact taste of Biryani made in one of those Hyderabad restaurants. And more over its easy to use. No more maintaining a recipe book or recollecting the measurements of all different spices used in Biryani preparation.

I'm not a connoisseur of Indian food, but I certainly enjoy it when it's done well. I loved this curry paste and the dish I made from it (using veggie chicken, brown rice, and yogurt). It's very spicy but tasty nonetheless!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fragrant and absolutely addictive, December 4, 2010

This is my absolute favorite Indian food mix for ease of preparation and pure crave-ability. Excellent with chicken, but as I've since become a vegetarian, I still make this with peppers, onions, and potatoes. I'm sure it would work with tempeh or veggie protein too. By comparison to foil-pouch grocery store Indian meals, or even the simmer sauce you buy in a jar, this is an outstanding product. (PS - I use lemon juice instead of the 'lemon curd' it calls for on the box)

4.0 out of 5 stars A good addition to the cupboard..., September 12, 2009

Very easy; very quick, and a good company/emergency product to keep in the cupboard. I followed the directions carefully and the result was an excellent authentic flavor. Do not reduce the quantity of rice recommended or the result will be too spicey even for lovers of Indian Currys.
