Kitty's New Doll (Little Golden Book)

I've got an older version of this book (the illustrations match those in the images above), and this is my 2 year old daughter's absolute favorite book. We read it every night. She views the mother cat as me and Kitty the daughter kitten as being her, and likes to act out the story with her stuffed animals. The pictures are adorable, and I'm hoping to make her a little kitty rag doll like the one in the book (easy because the whole doll is painted on).

My daughter had this book when she was a toddler and loved it. The pictures of the little kitten picking out a plain rag doll that she loves are precious. Unfortunately, our copy had some liquid spilled on it in the car. I kept looking for a copy without success. Golden released a new version of the book with more modern illustrations but it isn't nearly as nice. When I found this older copy, I ordered it so we'd have one. This is the book my daughter reads to kittens we are fostering. I can picture her reading it to her own kids one day.

I purchased this for my 2 yr old daughter. It is a sweet story that she really loves. It also makes the point that you do not need a doll/toy with all the bells and whistles as long as you have your imagination. We love the illustrations too!
