I live in Calgary, Alberta. In this city, cats are not allowed to roam outside of their own yards. The Kittywalk has been the perfect solution. The cats (I have three) go outside via their cat door, and have about 22 feet of Kittywalk to roam in. I have left it outside all winter for them, and it shows minimal signs of wear and tear after being out in -30 temperatures and snow for the last six months. The cats love it. I am now going to add another section and some curves for them!

I had this product plus the penthouse connected to it. I live in Wisconsin, and I disassembled it and stored it during the winter. Beyond that, it was outside on my deck. My cats adored it. (Be warned; it's not easy to get them out if they don't want to come out! You practically have to crawl in after them - and you don't want to do that and risk stretching/ripping the netting!)

Unfortunately, the second spring/summer we had it, the netting started to break apart where it stretches over the rounded wire supports on top. I tried to use some of the extra shoelace-like strings (for tying on the hammocks/canopies) to try to repair the rips, but those just broke in my hands - clearly due to being outside in hot summers.

By the end of that second summer, I had to throw the whole thing away, because the net was simply not repairable. A LOT of money to spend on two summers of spoiling my cats.... I was enormously disappointed, primarily because of the expense, but also because the cats and I really liked it while it lasted. I wouldn't have minded so much if it had cost less than $100 - but to spend as much as I did (about $250 for the long enclosure plus penthouse), it was NOT a good value.

I'm guessing the reviewer who said it held up well after six months of Canadian winter discovered by the next winter that it was falling apart at the seams - literally.

I bought this for my house cat so that she can enjoy the outdoors in safety. While the kittywalk is a good idea in theory it just didn't work for us. My cat is rather large and strong. She walked into the kitty walk and proceded to figure out a way to escape. She ripped through it and ran off into our backyard in a matter of minutes. I got her back safe and sound, but how she managed to widen the mesh enough to get out I'll never know. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

I love this product - it is a perfect compromise for those who want to let their cats outside, but need to keep an eye on them!

At first my cats were a little hesitant to get in the enclosure, but once they got distracted by all the wildlife, they were eager to get in it every time.

It is also a very durable product - you can leave it outside in the winter, even when it is snowing... and come spring it still holds up really well - no rust or damage.

I just got the Town and Country package, and wow, what a great product! It is extremely sturdy and well made. I cut a hole in one of the doors, and attached it to a cat door coming out of the house, which I can lock from the inside to control when they go out there. (They don't make the correlation between that and the people doors, so they don't try to escape outside.) My two cats absolutely LOVE IT!!! I've always felt guilty keeping them entirely indoors, and this was the perfect solution. I can't wait to buy more pieces to attach to this system!

It's the perfect solution. We live in a townhouse development and our cat would initially stay on our deck but had started to escape into the neighbor's garden. Now we have the Kittywalk system on our deck and we don't have to worry about our cat escaping and getting hurt. We purchased 2 of the 6 foot sections and it runs the length of the deck. We may add on next year by purchasing more pieces.

It is the best purchase I have made recently. Our cats (2) love it and sit in it for hours. We have to bribe them to come in at night. We have it set up so they can walk in or out of the livingroom into the back yard at their choice. A great babysitter.

I have two 2-year-old cats and wanted them to be able to go outside safely. They got used to the kittywalk immediately in the house and started rough-housing in it, on it, over it!!! They got their claws stuck in the netting, but mind you my cats are quite active. I could tell that if they saw a chipmunk when outside, the kittywalk would be topsy-turvy! I had to return it. I do think for a sedate cat who just likes to "hang" it would be very nice.
