Customer Reviews

Since last two months the flash light button stopped working completely.
Sulwan Rehman
It has piqued the interest of other coworkers, and is far better than anything I've purchased at local home centers.

Overall, a GREAT flashlight and a must phone if you want something that can protect as well as serve daily tasks.

While it's likely I received a defective product, it seemed to work well and there were no signs at first. I only found out when my flashlight heated up to crazy high temperatures.

As it stands right now, if I put in a battery and put on the end cap, the spring on the end will turn red hot within seconds. Earlier in the day I had been charging it from my laptop, the light was red so that meant it was still charging... but the entire flashlight was unbelievably hot when I went to pick it up! I thought if I unplugged it, it would cool down.. but even an hour later it was just as hot so I managed to get the battery out altogether and it cooled down.

It no longer seems to work and the spring seems melted into the inside plastic on the end now... sadly I bought this right before a long-term missions trip to the Philippines, so returning it would be more difficult and expensive than I can afford right now or even anytime soon. Far more important things than a flashlight going on of course. Typhoon Bopha just swept through so it's pretty rough here. This flashlight seemed like a perfect fit for what I needed, but wish I went with another flashlight now. I don't have bad things to say about Klarus as a company, but with this product, as far as I can tell, there may be no way of knowing you have a defective unit until you burn yourself or start a fire, thus the one star on this.

And for the record, I never dropped or did anything extreme with the unit, I even had it as a carry-on for my flight, and it worked well for days.. I was very impressed with it before the problem. And the battery, a high-quality Panasonic 18650, and works well in a flashlight another person has here. Not sure what to do about my flashlight now, but I thought I'd share my experiences with this at least.. whatever that's worth :)

I bought this flashlight to use at work. I am an aircraft mechanic working on small to mid-sized corporate jets.
This flashlight became my work everyday carry (EDC) since it is small enough to comfortably wear in its holster. As I initially thought, it's actually too bright (620 lumens) to use up close, however I purchased a diffuser lense (sold separately) which has made this a very practical light.
I gave it 4 stars for several reasons-
I've experienced 1 glitch with the on/off switch, where the light would only turn on to the dimmest setting. After an hour or so for no apparent reason it worked fine, and I haven't had the problem again.
Another reason is that the brightest setting can only be used for a few minutes, as the heat sink in the head can't dissipate the heat fast enough. The light will automatically dim to protect itself from damage. I will say that during my typical usage, I only use the light for brief intervals (not as a area work light or drop light (see review of Nightcore TM11), so I actually haven't experienced it dimming when I use it.
Lastly, the method of turning it on (UI, or user interface) is a minor annoyance, although something I've accepted, and in no way deters me from wanting to use the light. You have to hold the on switch down for longer than 0.6 seconds (to bypass the momentary switch action), which doesn't seem like long, but when you forget, you go through several on-off-on-off-on cycles.
Overall though, the Klarus RS-11 has fulfilled one of the 3 specific needs I've had for work lighting. It has piqued the interest of other coworkers, and is far better than anything I've purchased at local home centers.
Note: this light uses rechargeable 18650 Li-ion batteries, purchased separately. I'm using Orbtronic 3400 mAh.

I bought this flash light about 10 months ago, just few days after I purchased this flash light, the usb charger quit working, and then one of the button started to act up, sometimes it worked and some time it did not. so I contact Amazon and they had a company emailed me that they were not the seller so they emailed another company and CCed me that company probably was China and they did not even respond to that emai, so I called them and the rep spoke some language I did not understand, so I had to buy 18650 charger from Amazon. Since last two months the flash light button stopped working completely. Now I have 4 18650 battery + charger which I have no use for and the Klarus RS11 flash light which is not even a good paper weight.

This high end, water proof tactical flashlight is very bright (620 lumens) and with great esthetics (resembling a small lightsaber). I bought it because I was looking for a flashlight that would let me switch from regular light to strobe easily. With the Klaus this can be done by just pressing a button above the grip. This flashlight did not came with batteries, and they range from $12-$20 depending on the type you buy (it uses two - CR123A or one- 18650). I recommend buying the 18650 battery because is rechargeable, and the flashlight provides a cord to connect thru USB to charge the unit.
Because of its size, strong metal body and stainless steel bezel ring (which is removable) it can easily be used as a melee weapon for protection.
This flashlight is perfect for any general outdoor activity like camping, trecking, night hunting, night fishing and cave exploring as well as for security services and any army type tactical practices.
