these are so practical and the insulated ones are great for keeping cold thinks cold for almost all day with ice still in container and coffee warm all day. However, if you are using the top that you turn to sip from while you are driving and in the closed position and you accidently turn over the container, you better expect a spill. This means two tops necessary if you want to avoid a potential accidental spill as it happened to me while driving and I spilled hot coffee in my car. Also, I am not crazy about this product being manufactured in China.

This is probably the ultimate coffee cup for the continuum, and probably on earth too. Holds a full day's, or at least morning's, ration of coffee. I don't know about you, but the coffee at my work is undrinkable, so I have to bring my own. It's well-made, and the black is so slimming. No need to pour from thermos to cup, because this is all-in-one, just switch caps. Doesn't leak. Might be a good present for someone you know. The inside of the loop cap is even stainless steel, for all you ocd-types who can't have any plastic touch your drinks.

I have a friend who LOVES her insulated Klean Kanteen. I've had Sigg bottles in the past and so I thought what's all the fuss about? Well, after hearing about how great it is, ("Ice cubes all day!" "I have to leave the top off when I have hot coffee in it so it will cool down enough to drink it!") I decided I'd give it a go. I'm so happy that I did! Now I'm a believer in the insulated Klean Kanteen. I took it to the Minnesota State Fair this year on an 85+ degree day and had cold water all day. I can take it to the beach and have cold water, again, all day. It can sit in a hot car for a few hours and yep, I still have cold water. Just the best! Can't wait to give this a go with my hot coffee when the weather cools down.

This insulated bottle is great. The loop cap is stainless steel lined so none of the contents touches plastic. The loop cap is nice and strong, it feel like it will last forever. The threads on both caps are easy to use and about impossible to cross. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is that the sip cap is only ok. My sip cap leaks vigorously and is of course all plastic. Secondly the loop cap lets heat out, its always nice and warm. Even so the bottle keeps my coffee really hot for hours and is easy to drink from with no cap on at all. I would buy it with only the loop cap if I had it to do all over again.

My husband and I each have an insulated bottle--mine is purple, his is blue. The paint is chipping off both badly, and it is embarrassing to bring to work (it looks pretty bad--bubbly and peeling). For such an expensive product and a supposedly sustainable company, I would expect a better product. The manufacturer said it is normal wear and tear and they will not replace the product--you have been warned.

UPDATE (as of January 2014) - after a couple more emails with photos to the manufacturer, they agreed to replace my peeling Kanteen with a Stainless Kanteen, so I'm now a happy customer again. I do think these are durable, non-toxic Kanteens, but personally, I'll avoid the painted Kanteens, just in case, and stick to Stainless whenever possible. If you have a painted Kanteen, they recommend hand washing it. Also, it will dent if you drop it. As for leaking, I do use the cafe cap which is not meant to be leak-proof--yes, it leaks, but you have to compare the cafe cap to a cup you'd get at a coffee-shop--it's not meant to to be leak proof. My husband prefers the Loop Cap which has not leaked.

This does keep coffee warm all day. It does have that going for it. Why they couldn't figure out how to design the sip top that can seal is beyond me.

I was influenced to buy this bottle after I made a coast to coast trip across the US with a friend. She was a huge iced coffee drinker, and would have us stop each morning to get some. One pause in the trip, which was in Arizona, found her leaving the bottle in the car as we stayed the night at a hotel. The following morning, ice was still in the cup. My mind was absolutely blown. How could a bottle keep things cold for so long!? I had to have one. I bought this set - and while my bottle does keep things chilly for a long time - ice doesn't last as long as hers did. Is it because mine is black, and hers was unfinished? Is it because hers was old, and mine is new? I don't know. Still a great bottle - I just remember it being better.

I work at a factory that has a mean temputature of 95 degs. I can fill this kanten with ice and it will last all day even with several refills. Coffee stays hot for half the day. It fits in my cup holder in the car and sits well on the side of my hip with a clip when I walk. Looking for a great reusable canteen, look no farther.

I love this! Keeps my morning tea hot all through the morning. Sometimes I forget to let my tea cool before putting either cap on and hours later I take a sip and it's still a bit too hot. Amazing!
