Klean Heat lives up to it's claims. I use it in lanterns and oil lamps and it gives bright odor free light.Just the thing for ambiance or power outages. I can buy Kerosene at a local oil company for less than five dollars a gallon so I haven't tried this in my heater yet. But based on my lights I would say wicks would last longer on Klean Heat. I might suggest looking for this localy. I buy it at Home Depot for one half the price here and no shipping to pay.

I've used this product satisfactorily for several years now and can add some comment related to others' observations. First, if I were heating with kerosene, I wouldn't use this product. It's too expensive. Use a good K1 source instead. Really, this product is an outstanding alternative for kerosene and oil lamps. I burn kerosene lamps year-round and this really is the thing. Kerosene leaves an offensive odor, especially if it's old or poorly refined. And keep in mind too, that if you expect a cleaner smelling burn when switching to this product, you must use a new clean wick. Clean out the fuel chamber after emptying the old fuel. Straight household ammonia works well for this. Make sure it's dry before refilling. Otherwise the smell remains. That's been my experience. Look for end-of-season clearance at Home Depot and Lowe's. I got several gallons for $10 a couple of seasons ago and stocked up.

I have a fussy round wick lamp that required careful tending, about fifteen minutes, to get it going properly with a lamp oil. This product lights quickly, has no odor, burns very brightly, and best of all the lamp is very well behaved now. I did find the product locally.

Twelve bucks a gallon at Lowes! Rip-off!
If this product is supposed to be an improvement over K-1 kerosene, you couldn't prove it to me. Same smell when lighting or extinguishing the lantern or stove, same smell when operating. I do not consider it worth the money.

I've used Medallion, 100% paraffin, but this is the best lamp oil I've used. I think the paraffin is problematic and unreliable in my flat-wick lamps, I've had some trouble with Medallion as well. The Klean Heat has been perfect, no soot at all, chimneys are clean. Cost - wise, this is less then anything else by far. I was able to buy it off the shelf at Lowes, about the same as here, but no shipping. Too bad its not Prime...

I use the Klean Heat for a portable heater that we have. It burns clean with hardly any smell.
It did take a while for me to receive the product, but I do not believe that it was the sellers fault, due to the bad weather we have been having lateley.
