5.0 out of 5 stars Top Quality Tools!
These are very high quality tools. They feel heavy and sturdy in your hands, not light and cheap. I think evey household should have these. Highly Recommended!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for small screws...
I work with electronics, and I thought that at least the smaller screwdriver would work for me...If your working with 2-56 screws, the smaller screwdriver will not work for you!

These are perfect for starting slotted screws in tight places. They are very high quality. Once you own a set, you will wonder how you got along before. I used to own one of these for years until somone stole mine a while ago. Now I'm back - YES!

This set of 3 holding screwdrivers is a must in the electrical trade. They cover a large range of sloted screws that they are able to hold till the threads start. If one tries to apply too much torque, they will wear out quick. Over all, I would recomend them to anyone .

As always klein has excellent tools. I'm very happy with purchase and would recommend these tools to others. These screwdrivers are really helpful for individuals with arthritis or hand problems.

These are indispensable when you need them. The hold is very firm. You can torque the screw quite hard as the tools are strong. I am very pleased with the quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent drivers but a few drawbacks, February 11, 2012

This review is from: Klein SK234 3-Piece Slotted Screw-Holding Screwdriver Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
Let me start out by commenting on Klein tools in general by saying that more than 1/3 of my collection is klein and am thoroughly impressed by their quality, durability and utility. Next let me say that these specific drivers are NOT branded Klein, instead they are of the VACO brand, but let me iterate that this should not dissuade you from purchasing these drivers as they are manufactured and sold under the Klein umbrella of tools and meet or exceed the quality that you would expect from Klein. So if you are a stickler for having the word Klein stamped all over your tool collection, you might be a tad dissapointed. With all that said, on to the review.....

I work for a major U.S. utility provider and demand only the best tools for my profession, these hold-tight drivers meet that demand. The way they work is simple. You insert the split standard driver into the standard or phillips screw head and then press down on the sliding shaft which forces the two sections of drive together horizontally and apart vertically thereby squeezing them against the insides of the screw slot and holding the screw while you screw/unscrew and pull it away form the work area and not dropping it across two hot leads or into a hollow void making the screw inaccessible. The design work great and the drives work very well on most fastener heads. Now onto the cons.....

Seeing as how these drivers are designed with the electrician in mind, WHY, WHY, WHY are they not bump protected!? Every tool I use needs to be bump protected and most come from the manufacture that way. I had to wrap these in electrical tape and do the job myself, how hard would it have been to plastex dip these during manufacturing? For this reason, I only gave them 4 stars. The other thing that would have been nice is to stamp or even print the driver size on the top of the handle like every other Klein tool out there. #2, #3 and so on.

In conclusion these drivers are an excellent buy for this price, my local hardware store has this exact set for 35% more than amazon.com. The other neat thing I noticed about these drivers were the holding tips. They are forged in such a way that they actually pinch the inside of the screw head, it is difficult to explain but the shaft is bent a little out so the screw doesn't slip off from pressure, ingenious design. Klein, if you bump protect them and stamp the drive size on the end, these would be the perfect electrician's hold-tights.

I have used these before, but lost the old ones. They are very good for holding slotted screw heads while removing or installing. Can be operated using just one hand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Expands in the Slot, October 5, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Klein SK234 3-Piece Slotted Screw-Holding Screwdriver Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
This screwdriver works by having the tip expand in the slot. It does not grip the head. It works very well on a new screw with deep slot and staight sides. On a used, rusted, or painted over screw, it doesn't work at all. If you are getting new screws you should buy Phillips or Torx or something else with a head that will hold the screwdriver tip securely.
