This is my primary job knife that I keep in my Klein Tools 5144BHB14OS Hard-Body Aerial Bucket for electrical and communications cabling work.

Comes with a sharp edge straight from the factory, holds a sharp edge, and when it does dull it is very easy to re-sharpen.

I've tried many different knives. Straight blades, razor blades, hook blades, sheepfoot blades, etc... I've also tried different handle materials such as wood , metal, plastic, etc... Of all of them this is the one I like the best. Here is why I love it. It is very lightweight. The little thumb peg makes it a snap to open the blade single handed while working with live wires or in any situation. You can even move the peg to either side of the blade depending on if your right handed or left handed. The blade is extremely thin and pointy making it very sharp and easy to skin wire. The really fine point makes it nice for slitting cable jackets. I like the sheepfoot/hook blades because the round curve of the blade follows the contour of round cable when skinning. Overall this is just a great electricians knife. The only downfall is it doesn't include a little belt pouch.

This is my primary job knife that I keep in my Klein Tools 5144BHB14OS Hard-Body Aerial Bucket for electrical and communications cabling work. The sheepfoot tip is great for making quick work of opening packaging, splicing cable and cutting pull chord. Very comfortable in the hand and held conveniently on my belt in a Klein 5235 Belt Sheath for 4-Inch to 4-1/2-Inch Folding Knife in which it fits perfectly.

I love this knife. It's sharp, holds its edge, and the sheep foot design is perfect not only for electrical work but many applications.
As a lefty, I love that you can reverse the thumb nub to open it with the left hand. Klein just always seems to get it right.

I got tired of wires getting raped by using a razor knife to skin out romex. The best tool purchase I've ever made was probably this little knife. Being an electrician, I earn my living using this thing, and it has helped to make me more consistent with cutting in, saved time on repairing nicks as well as on changing razor blades, and saves my hands thanks to it being long and thin enough to fit easily in a single gang box and just hook the insulation around the tip of the blade and slice it right off.

I've been using this knife almost daily for about 9 months now, and it hasn't failed me yet.

This is my 2nd Klein "sheepsfoot" knife in only 13yrs, I use it daily at work and it gets put through a lot and handles it with ease. The blade is honed very well but because of that it's very easy to distort the fine edge of the blade, but not to a point of messing with the sharpness. The design of the blade allows you to put a lot of pressure on the tip of knife, allowing you to strip insulation on larger diameter wire with ease,(up to 500 kcmil and larger, something that's very difficult on a drop-point or a tanto blade)and still does as well below 16AWG wire.
