If you plan on driving this with the Klein Scout Pro, don't waste you time and money. The Scout Pro doesn't have enough drive to make the combination work properly. Perhaps with other tone generators, it may work?
Fluorescent lights, in the vicinity, overdrives the probe.

Bought this to use with a Klein cable tester, the tester went back under warranty as the tone feature is broken, but the probe is very useful.

This thing made my day so much better just this morning, I had a jack that could have terminated in two different closets... We put a Fluke tone box on the jack and two of us split up to try both closets at once. My Klein found it first! Clear loud tone, good sensitivity.

I really like the push on or stay on feature.

This to is very intuitive to use and well made. If I had to force a criticism, they could have included a lanyard. :)

After using this accessory a handful of times, I have determined that I've wasted my money buying it. The main issue is that it barely generates an audible tone even under the best of conditions, if there is any interference at all just forget about it working properly. Disappointing to say the least and NOT recommended.

I subtracted a start due to the fact that you really have to be right on the wire with this guy. You also have to hold the probe tip almost exactly in line with the wire to get a good tone. I was able to sort out a large (80+) data and phone job with this guy. My only suggestion is if it could have a little bit better recognition of the wires, but then again I haven't had a probe that was significantly better than this one. I'm just comparing it to others that cost $20-40 and this is about in that range (quality) but it doesn't come with the tone generator...Sad.

First, I haven't spent a lot of time with this tool, but so far it has been minimally effective. Worked on some runs of wire, but not others -- even though they had no flaws. After connecting those lines to service, they worked fine so was odd that the tone didn't work. Perhaps with more experience, I will find something I could do to make it work better.
