Klipsch Heritage Series Speakers are priced individually but sold only as matched pairs. Avoid delays by ordering in groups of two. First introduced in 1957, the Heresy, a three-way design, started out as a compact center channel speaker to accompany the Klipschorn(R) in three-speaker stereo arrays. In 1985, Klipsch made some changes and improvements to this model and re-released it as the Heresy II. Today, Klipsch has given the new Heresy III a bi-wire network, titanium diaphragm tweeter and larger magnet assembly. The midrange has moved from a phenolic to a titanium diaphragm. All of these changes result in improved tonal balance and increased output. In fact the Heresy III is two decibels louder (96 to 98dB), improving on its already high sensitivity. In addition to delivering smooth, dynamic and low distortion sound, the Heresy III is available in a high-quality cherry, walnut or black ash wood veneer finish. It also ships with a slant riser that can be removed for cabinet installations. Because of its relatively "compact size, this model offers the greatest degree of placement flexibility in the Heritage Series line

These speakers are an outstanding value, they are very efficient the highs sparkle and bass is taught down to 58 Hz, the cutoff, not booming and soft like some systems of this price.

As an owner of the Heresy II's for around 20 years, I have seen the quality of the Klipsch Heritage line is outstanding. My Heresy II's are in another room, still in service. I also own a pair of Cornwall III's, they blend beautifully with the Heresy III as an integral component in my home entertainment system.

New titanium diaphragms give the high end a true brilliance and clarity beyond most speakers in this price range, the mid range is truly magnificent (also titanium diaphragms) and taught, detailed bass all blend beautifully, the new crossover oversees this amazing ensemble. At 99db 1 watt/1 meter (up 2 db from the Heresy II) with a maximum continuous output of 116 db, the sheer sound pressure level will satisfy the most demanding home applications. These speakers possess dynamic capabilities beyond just about anything. For sound, clarity, dynamic range and quality they are surpassed by nothing in the price range, which is saying something considering the $799 each price tag or $1598 a pair.

Although they are not inexpensive, they are truly a bargain, these speakers, if well cared for are a lifetime investment. Truly, my mom still has a pair of Klipschorns she bought in 1962 they are still amazing, my aunt has a pair of the original Heresy's from the 1970's and they still sound great.
