5.0 out of 5 stars high quality speakers for music lovers, July 6, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Klipsch Heresy III Three-Way Horn-Loaded Loudspeaker with 12-Inch Subwoofer (Cherry) (Electronics)
As a life long musician I always longed for better audio system speakers. I am totally thrilled with my new Klipsch Heresy III speakers. While they may not have the same low bass extension as the much larger Cornwall, they still are so much better than the Infinity SM-102 speakers I had before. For acoustic jazz the mid range and treble just sing on tunes from Dave Brubeck and Bill Evans, and the bass while only listed as -3db at 58 Hz, is still quite good. On the new recording of the Bluenote 7 Mosaic CD I can hear the sting bass solos where before I had muffled one note bass on my previous speakers. The finish on the Klipsh Heresy is like fine furniture. The cherry veneer is beautiful. I would highly recommend these to jazz and classical music lovers who do not have the room or budget for Cornwall IIIs. Some day I may own Cornwalls or Lascala IIs, but until that day my Heresy IIIs are my pride and joy. Also like all Klipsch heritage speakers they are handmade in USA and are direct decendants of the actual designs by legandary audio engineer Paul W. Klipsch. You will not regret buying quality and these are high quality speakers. These speakers are highly efficent so they can crank loud with very little power, and yet they sound great in quiet settings too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Klipsch Miracle, January 30, 2011
This review is from: Klipsch Heresy III Three-Way Horn-Loaded Loudspeaker with 12-Inch Subwoofer (Cherry) (Electronics)
I purchased my 1st pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers in the mid-seventies in Alberta, Canada. I sold them due to my move to Kailua, Hawaii. At 52 lbs. each, moving them was NOT an option for me at the time. I replaced them last week after having owned several pairs of speakers. This is like meeting up with an old and faithful friend after a long absence. Paul W. Klipsch called these Heresys due to using a 12" woofer as opposed to a folded bass horn. I have to say these speakers faithfully reproduce great music at ALL ends of the listening spectrum. The highs are crisp while the lows are thunderous without even a hint of distortion. I have (AB'd) listened to the La Scallas right along side of the Heresys and I have to say the Heresys do a great job of producing flawless music while NOT requiring a lot of physical space to do so. I have a modest living room. My Heresys sound fantastic while not overwhelming the room with their presence. The La Scallas indeed sound flawless at any level of volume however they do require a lot of room to do so. For me, the Heresys are tried and true and there are NO other speakers I would rather have. At 66 years of age I have listened to many speakers. Klipsch Heresys are the only speakers for me. In a word, awesome !!

2.0 out of 5 stars Gold Plate Vs. Solid Gold, June 10, 2011
This review is from: Klipsch Heresy III Three-Way Horn-Loaded Loudspeaker with 12-Inch Subwoofer (Cherry) (Electronics)
I had a pair years ago, sounded great and built like a tank with Birch Plywood, Just got a pair and they are half the speaker they used to be, i.e. they still sound great, but they are built like crap using MDF and glue guns. Its kinda like thinking that your are buying a solid gold coin only to find out it is gold plate.

Save your money and buy a speaker from a company that cares about build quality as much as they do sound. Also, dont buy the excuses that they use high quality MDF and it has tighter tolerances, better resins, blah-blah, thats like saying they use high quality S&!t, and we all know S&!t is S&!t!!!

Hell they could have at least used HDF.....

Shame on you Klispch
