Product Description

In-Ear Headphones with superior Comfort, Noise Isolation and Sound

Customer Reviews

Sounds great, not that I'm an expert or anything.
Oh no, you didn't!
The IMAGE S4s seem to me to have a wider soundstage than the V-moda.

I was hesitant to spend the money but I am sure glad I did.

Out of the box, I was not overly satisfied with the sound quality of these headphones. They had a a bit of a crackle during the highs and I was not very fond of it. I began to research "burning in" headphones and came across and great site that has audio clips of white noise, pink noise, and frequency sweeper. I let it loop through my headphones for approx 6 hours and they sound so much better. I haven't heard a crackle yet. This might be all in my head but they definitely sound a lot better. If you are unsatisfied with the quality at first, try and burn with some different sound clips. I used burninwave.com and they have some audio clips on there. As far as the comfort is concerned, they are very comfortable and I can barely tell they are in my ears.

I recently purchased a pair of the Klipsch IMAGE S4s and have been using them for about two weeks now. And I must say I am very impressed by this product.

My previous set of earbuds were made by V-moda and, although I enjoyed them, I felt there was a bit to much bass for my liking. When the V-modas's bit the dust I based my purchase of the Klipsch on the fact that the stereo system in the office where I work has Klipsch speakers and I liked the clean open sound of them. I figured I'd take a chance that the earbuds had that same quality.

The IMAGE S4s seem to me to have a wider soundstage than the V-moda. What I'm hearing more clearly now is the rhythm guitar in some songs and the background instrumentation in others that I'd never heard before. The best part is that the Klipsch buds do not skimp on the bass response. It's there. It's noticeable. And it's clean. I enjoy anything from classical to country to jazz to classic rock and these buds do justice to them all.

My only problem is with the silicone tips. I can't really blame Klipsch because I've never come across a tip that was "really" comfortable. For me the large tips are too big, the small ones too small and the medium ones not real comfortable. I've ordered a set of the Comply Tx-100 tips in the hopes it may be the solution.

Great sound separation with excellent bass response. Great buds for the price!

Great phones for the price. I was hesitant to spend the money but I am sure glad I did. One word of caution, if you don't want to hear everything on your recordings don't buy these, get the cheap ones. These phones let you hear everything. Some reviewers have dinged the cord for being small but I find nothing wrong with it. These phones are for adults not kids. Would definitely buy again.

Like many of you out there, I have gone through the cornucopia of ear buds through the years. I usually buy the 30-40 dollar brands with good reviews (Sennheiser CX-300, Radius Atomic Bass etc.) Its seems that while living up to the reviews, they lack an element that gives them that "over the top" feeling. The CX-300's are bright and full sounding, but they don't have the "girth" of the S4's. Sound quality aside, the CX-300's are constructed of plastic and have little re-enforcement around the wire stress zones. To me, this is as important as the sound drivers because what good are ear buds with no signal? The S4's have a sturdy wire casing and a solid rubber wrap around the stress points. The Radius Atomic Bass have the same build problems as well. They have an amazing bass response, but the fit of these required constant tweaking for me and the wire casing wore out on the left ear after 4 months. The S4's have a build quality far superior to any ear bud in the 30-40 dollar range.

As for the sound, these will make you want to burn your music to 320kps or FLAC files... no kidding. These are so detailed, you can hear a difference in the compression ratio's of the songs on your mp3 player. The dual magnet drivers reproduce every kHz with very little color. The experts are right about these.

These fit me best with the "wire behind the ear" method. There is a wire toggle to cinch up the loose wire. I wear them with the wire behind me as well. With a jacket on, these are almost invisible. The oval ear tips are indeed more comfortable as well, but I highly recommend getting the Comply T-100 foam tips for superior comfort.

I originally bought this product to replace my former Bose® In-Ear Headphones with Carrying Case - Black in ear noise cancellation headphones (which broke after 2 years), I did not realize that I would be upgrading to a better sound quality over all. The headphones natural isolation is probably the best noise isolation tech I've experienced that wasn't over 100 dollars for an in-ear head phone. Instead of inverting the outside frequencies (what my form Bose head phones tried to do), the noise cancellation comes from the design of the ear buds them selves. The seal that the buds have on the inner ear canal are similar to the ear plugs one would use to block out external noise, thus the head phone merely produces sound rather then trying to compensate for outside noises. I found that my Bose® In-Ear Headphones with Carrying Case - Black noise cancelation in-ear head phones stopped working after a month, but the Klipsch head phones have kept going in my book. The tin case that head phones come in almost encourage you to constantly wrap up your head phones after each use and place them neatly in the tin, however i think this to be a little too much over time and don't expect all users to do this. The cable that Klipsch uses isn't to rubbery like the Bose head phones; thus the slide that keeps the buds close to each other doesn't catch the cord to stretch it. Over-all I recommend this product for any one seeking high quality portable head phones, I wouldn't recommend using this as a jogging set of ear buds, but they are great for lovers of music who wish to hear every detail in a song.
