I like to buy from Amazon or whoever appears in the main listing, but I got mine from Klipsch directly where the site lists an MSRP much lower than the current price than some other vendors.
Very nice speakers! Actually, I'm judging the sound by having heard them subsequent to purchase in a way that let me A/B them with Bose Companion 3 and a host of others. It's hard to judge the sound quality by my home listening because I listen primarily to mp3s of old 78s whose sound quality ranges from bad to awful! Also the computer's sound card is not the best which doesn't help.
What I REALLY like about these speakers is that they're wireless. I wasn't sure I would notice an advantage over wired and wondered whether I was wasting the $50 upcharge, but I find the wireless is the best part. It lets me place the speakers optimally for listening without worrying about having to put a wired computer in an awkward place.
I've got most of my music collection loaded onto an older netbook (yeah, netbooks have been around that long that I can talk about an older one!) and the rest on a portable hard drive that I plug into the netbook's USB port. The speakers are well placed in a corner of the living room where the sound can be heard in all of the downstairs and, if I kick up the volume when no one else is around, all of the upstairs, too!
As others have said, the wireless functions clean and flawlessly.
A device (typically, an mp3 player?) can be plugged into the speakers directly. This means they can serve as wired speakers, too, but I can't imagine using them that way.
