5.0 out of 5 stars Love them!, August 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Wireless Computer Speakers (Personal Computers)
I had ordered a set of Logitech speakers initially which cost about 150 bucks. I received them from amazon but had to return them because they didn't work...not a surprise as i have had issues with Logitech in the past. It was reasonably priced so i thought i would try it. I'm glad they were faulty, because i found this set which is wireless. love that aspect of it. Not totally wireless as the speakers connect to the subwoofer and then that plugs into the outlet. But at least i can play stuff on my laptop and move it around freely w/o wires attached.

The sound quality is also excellent, and i can play these LOUD. I don't even have the volume or base halfway and its loud.

I'm very happy with my purchase and I would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Promedia Wireless Speakers, July 3, 2010

We have these speakers set up in the main part of our house so we can listen to music off of our computer which is in our office. We just plug in the USP transmitter and Windows automatically sends the music to those speakers, and just unplug it to stop and have sound come from our computer speakers again.

We have walls in between these areas (of course) and the sound quality is still flawless. I can move these speakers to my porch outside and still have great quality and awesome sound. I was hesitant at first but I feel these speakers are well worth the money and we are enjoying the heck out of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars GO WIRELESS, BUT Whoa! Watch out for the price!!!, September 2, 2010
This review is from: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Wireless Computer Speakers (Personal Computers)
I like to buy from Amazon or whoever appears in the main listing, but I got mine from Klipsch directly where the site lists an MSRP much lower than the current price than some other vendors.

Very nice speakers! Actually, I'm judging the sound by having heard them subsequent to purchase in a way that let me A/B them with Bose Companion 3 and a host of others. It's hard to judge the sound quality by my home listening because I listen primarily to mp3s of old 78s whose sound quality ranges from bad to awful! Also the computer's sound card is not the best which doesn't help.

What I REALLY like about these speakers is that they're wireless. I wasn't sure I would notice an advantage over wired and wondered whether I was wasting the $50 upcharge, but I find the wireless is the best part. It lets me place the speakers optimally for listening without worrying about having to put a wired computer in an awkward place.

I've got most of my music collection loaded onto an older netbook (yeah, netbooks have been around that long that I can talk about an older one!) and the rest on a portable hard drive that I plug into the netbook's USB port. The speakers are well placed in a corner of the living room where the sound can be heard in all of the downstairs and, if I kick up the volume when no one else is around, all of the upstairs, too!

As others have said, the wireless functions clean and flawlessly.

A device (typically, an mp3 player?) can be plugged into the speakers directly. This means they can serve as wired speakers, too, but I can't imagine using them that way.
