5.0 out of 5 stars Love them!
I had ordered a set of Logitech speakers initially which cost about 150 bucks. I received them from amazon but had to return them because they didn't work...not a surprise as i have had issues with Logitech in the past. It was reasonably priced so i thought i would try it. I'm glad they were faulty, because i found this set which is wireless. love that aspect of it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Sounded good for one day, then broke
I was very excited about these speakers since they seemed perfect for my home setup. Unfortunately, after setting them up I could not get the the speakers and subwoofer to work. After much tweaking by slightly pushing the preamp input connector in various directions I was able to get them to work...for a day. Now the subwoofer won't play at all. Have to return them -...

I had ordered a set of Logitech speakers initially which cost about 150 bucks. I received them from amazon but had to return them because they didn't work...not a surprise as i have had issues with Logitech in the past. It was reasonably priced so i thought i would try it. I'm glad they were faulty, because i found this set which is wireless. love that aspect of it. Not totally wireless as the speakers connect to the subwoofer and then that plugs into the outlet. But at least i can play stuff on my laptop and move it around freely w/o wires attached.

The sound quality is also excellent, and i can play these LOUD. I don't even have the volume or base halfway and its loud.

I'm very happy with my purchase and I would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Promedia Wireless Speakers, July 3, 2010

We have these speakers set up in the main part of our house so we can listen to music off of our computer which is in our office. We just plug in the USP transmitter and Windows automatically sends the music to those speakers, and just unplug it to stop and have sound come from our computer speakers again.

We have walls in between these areas (of course) and the sound quality is still flawless. I can move these speakers to my porch outside and still have great quality and awesome sound. I was hesitant at first but I feel these speakers are well worth the money and we are enjoying the heck out of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars GO WIRELESS, BUT Whoa! Watch out for the price!!!, September 2, 2010
This review is from: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Wireless Computer Speakers (Personal Computers)
I like to buy from Amazon or whoever appears in the main listing, but I got mine from Klipsch directly where the site lists an MSRP much lower than the current price than some other vendors.

Very nice speakers! Actually, I'm judging the sound by having heard them subsequent to purchase in a way that let me A/B them with Bose Companion 3 and a host of others. It's hard to judge the sound quality by my home listening because I listen primarily to mp3s of old 78s whose sound quality ranges from bad to awful! Also the computer's sound card is not the best which doesn't help.

What I REALLY like about these speakers is that they're wireless. I wasn't sure I would notice an advantage over wired and wondered whether I was wasting the $50 upcharge, but I find the wireless is the best part. It lets me place the speakers optimally for listening without worrying about having to put a wired computer in an awkward place.

I've got most of my music collection loaded onto an older netbook (yeah, netbooks have been around that long that I can talk about an older one!) and the rest on a portable hard drive that I plug into the netbook's USB port. The speakers are well placed in a corner of the living room where the sound can be heard in all of the downstairs and, if I kick up the volume when no one else is around, all of the upstairs, too!

As others have said, the wireless functions clean and flawlessly.

A device (typically, an mp3 player?) can be plugged into the speakers directly. This means they can serve as wired speakers, too, but I can't imagine using them that way.

Overall, I am happy with this purchase. The Klipsch speakers have great sound and, in my house, the range covered my entire 2 story house. The only issues I have that kept me from giving it a 5 star review are 2 items; the power plug and power switch. The power plug doesn't seem very secure when plugged in to the base unit (subwoofer). You can slightly move the unit and it can interrupt power. Also, the power switch being on the back of the subwoofer is really inconvenient....it should be on the one speaker that has the volume and subwoofer control. But, these are tolerable. Love the sound and versatility/range of the wireless.

I remodeled my kitchen and wanted a good sound system. I wanted the system for me to be able listen to my paid XM subscription. I bought and tried Squeezebox radio. When I received it I quickly found out that it was not compatible with XM ( I since discovered you can download a patch to make it work). However, the Squeezebox is small and, well, just ok. However, when compared to the Klipsch speaker system there is just no comparison. Klipsch has a separate woofer that has as much earth rattling base as anyone could want. The satellite speakers are phenomenal and overall the wireless sound is simply unbelievable.
The best part is when ordered directly from Klipsch you get it deliver in three days for only $199.00. No tax and free shipping. $50 less then squeezebox and 10 times the sound.

I can't find a single fault with this system. In fact it exceeded all of my expectations by far.

1. Wireless capability is ROCK SOLID. No dropouts or interruption with my wireless modem and it connects within seconds to the speakers. No long waits or anything like that.
2. Sound quality! This system brings out exactly the way music was intended to sound, plus some. The bass is incredible and you cannot max it out without exploding your eardrums - it is THAT powerful. But it never overpowers the satellites even at high volumes, sounds clear and makes everything sound balanced and enjoyable all the time. You really FEEL the music as it plays. I just love the amount of volume I can get out of this system without any sacrifice to sound quality and it is by far the best way I've ever spent $200. 5 star product. Congrat's Klipsch!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dynamite sound from a wireless setup, October 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Wireless Computer Speakers (Personal Computers)
My former roommate recommended the original Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system, which I had originally planned to buy. But when I started researching it, I found that there was now a wireless version available. As a laptop user, that was very attractive. I took the plunge, bought it, and have been enjoying it for two years now (purchased on Amazon in 2009). The wireless USB device works and always finds the speakers if it's within eye-shot of your location. The sound reproduction is pure Klipsch: accurate and beautiful. Two thumbs up.

These are great speakers! I was not expecting such quality out of computer speakers! They are extremely easy to set up, 5 minutes reading the instructions, 2 minutes setting them up. I love all kinds of music and the sound is great for all. I like to listen to music loud, these sound great at all volume levels. I would recommend these for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound quality, December 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Wireless Computer Speakers (Personal Computers)
I have to say I was a bit skeptical about wireless speakers, but this set just blew me away. The setup was quite easy; you plug everything in, insert the USB adapter and in less than 30 seconds everything is working. I was, however, totally not expecting the quality and the volume of these speakers. The sound is great, with no crackling, hissing or anything like that. The subwoofer delivers a nice deep bass which makes the sound richer. The room I have is about 100 square feet and these puppies rock the place.

I connected these speakers to a Media Center PC which is primarily used for watching TV and DVDs.

The wireless requires line-of-sight. So if you walk in between the transmitter and the speaker, you'll interrupt the stream momentarily. A true RF wireless connection would've been better. However, this isn't an issue for me.

The one thing that is odd is that the only wire you're rid of is the one from the computer to the subwoofer. For me this works because I have a fairly large room and the Media Center is right next to the TV and I wanted the speakers closer to where I'm sitting and avoid having wires cross under the carpet in a high traffic area. However, for most setups, the speakers would be closer to the computer, so a wired version of ProMedia 2.1 might be the better solution. Also you can't put them farther than 30 feet and they require line-of-sight, so you can't go too far either.

PROS:
- Great quality speakers
- Decent price (yes, they aren't the cheapest out there, but for the price/value ratio is very good with these.
- Easy setup

CONS:
- Line of sight wireless

I strongly recommend this product to anyone who needs to put their speakers far from their computer.

UPDATE: It's been two months since I bougth these and I'm still impressed by the sound. There's one quirk though: if you turn off your speakers, you need to make sure that your PC boots up before you turn them back on. Otherwise one of the speakers don't work and you have to turn the speaker system on and off several times to get it to work again. But, if you turn them on (or never turn them off) after the PC boots up, no problems.

One added CON: the power switch is at the back of the subwoofer. If you turn on and off the speakers frequently, this might be a problem as it is hard to reach.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best 2.1 PC Speaker, November 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Wireless Computer Speakers (Personal Computers)
I have done a lot of research before purchasing these speakers.. This is a wireless system and its connected to my laptop via USB card. Very easy set up. Been using it for 2 weeks now and did not have any issues what so ever..It has a lot of bass (more than enough). Excellent choice for gamers. I listen to music mainly and all I gotta say is WOW. Bose compenion 5 is $400 and the sound does not even come close to Klipcsh. These are high quality speakers. I will definetely recommend this product to anyone looking for 2.1 system. Take my word for it!
