The Klipsch RS-25 surround speaker employs more compact-sized horns, enabling a reduction in cabinet width. It uses Wide Dispersion Surround Technology (WDST), which offers both rich, immersive surround sound and precise localization of individual effects from a speaker that has much more placement flexibility than conventional designs. Careful alignment of two controlled-directivity Tractrix horn tweeters, angled opposite one another on the cabinet flanking a central woofer, yields a 180-degree dispersion pattern, delivering a smooth, broad distribution of sound ideal for every surround-sound format and for music as well as movies.

Low frequencies are reproduced by a 5.25-inch cast-frame, cerametallic cone woofer. Flanking the woofer are twin 1-inch titanium dome compression driver tweeters with 4-inch square 90 x 60-degree Tractrix horns. By placing these horns at 90 degrees to one another, the WDST design yields a seamless, 180-degree coverage pattern for optimal surround performance. A side port further enhances the speaker's bass output for a full-range surround-channel experience.

The crossover network is constructed using premium components including top-of-the-line internal wiring, polyester film-type capacitors and an air-core inductor all mounted on a high-quality fiberglass epoxy board. This combination ensures signal purity and proper driver integration. The RS-25 has a back-panel keyhole for flush mounting to walls and a threaded insert for attachment to popular adjustable wall and ceiling brackets.
