Built to complement the RF-7 and RF-5 floorstanding, RB-75 bookshelf, and RC-7 center channel loudspeakers, the Klipsch RS-7 offers a broad coverage angle, extraordinary sensitivity and output capability, and extended bass response that provide astonishingly detailed, immersive surround--even in large rooms. It uses Wide Dispersion Surround Technology (WDST), which enhances rear channel performance and allows incredible flexibility in room placement.
Manufactured on a rigid, low-resonance cast polymer frame, the RS-7's 8-inch, long-throw cerametallic cone woofer is propelled by an immense 28-ounce magnet and a large, high-temperature voice coil. The resulting bass articulation and impact defy conventional expectations for surround speakers. Flanking the woofer, are twin 1-inch titanium dome compression driver tweeters with 8-inch square 90 x 60-degree Tractrix horns. By placing these horns at 90 degrees to one another, the WDST design yields a seamless, 180-degree coverage pattern for optimal surround performance. The advanced crossover networks of the RS-7 are carefully designed for an improved blend between the lower midrange and upper bass frequencies. They use the highest quality internal wiring.
