Best Value For The Money,

This big dogs shakes my house. I have to send the wife to the spa just to enjoy it (there is a low Wife Acceptance Factor here, aka the WAF factor). The first time you take this out of the box and pipe in "U571" will put a smile on your face. (and every time thereafter).

Disagree with Ted's review,

After reading these reviews, I find Ted's to be unreliable. His experience with the RCA plug connection is could easily be the result of either a defective cable, or simply a loose RCA connector end that causes the classic "popping" noise, as it makes contact and loses it. Since there is an active amplifier contained in this sub-woofer, intermittent contact with the signal source responds differently than with normal passive speakers. Also, his comparison with the Sony and other sub-woofers isn't even in the same ball-park as with this Klipsch Reference RSW-10.
Starting as a recording technician many years ago, I evolved into a life long audiophile. When I decided to set up a home theater, I decided not to use my classic Crown and AR system, but to purchase an updated one. After much investigation and careful listening in a variety of sound showrooms around the Chicago area, I found the Klipsch Reference line of speakers to be the best one suited for a complete home theater experience. This was I'm sure in large part due to their extensive experience in the movie theater business, and reflects in the ability to provide the most realistic home theater listening environment. Depending on the size of the room, any of the Klipsch reference sub-woofers will provide an excellent bass experience with wall shaking ability. The key to the high quality sound though is the lack of distortion and clean/tight response curve of these speakers. I found the RSW-10 to be the perfect size for my room, even as it opens into a kitchen area. It provides substantially more accurate and listenable sound than others I've tried. I highly recommend this sub-woofer and the entire Klipsch Reference Speaker line.

I purchased this Klipsch RSW 10" subwoofer as an addition to my Klipsch Rf-83 tower speakers, driven by an Onkyo TX-SR805 receiver which put the finishing touch to what I have always tried to achieve. The superb deep rich sound that this RSW 10-subwoofer produces is incredible, especially considering the compact size of the dual 10" speakers. The Klipsch company stands behind their products 100% for the consumers satisfaction using only the best quality materials which is once again demonstrated in this subwoofer. I have done hours of research on this subwoofer and have found the best price through Amazon which is always made easy to order along with flawless delivery. Completely satisfied with purchase!

Don't let the size fool you...,

this thing will rattle stuff off the walls but with a clean, tight sound. If you have a HUGE home theater room than this may not be the best for you, but for 95% of rooms this will be more than enough. I've had more than one person say "look at that cute little subwoofer" but after hearing it they're blown away. It scares the hell out of my dog. If listening at wall-rattling levels keep an eye on it because it WILL walk across the room (I'm serious). Having said all this, I think it's the MSRP and current pricing is obscene--get it used for around 6 bills (or 5 like I did) and you will be amazed.

I expected a lot when I got this sub. Mine had an RCA connection problem that created a short (and huge popping noise) when the cable was slightly touched or moved. I was able to do some testing before sending the product back. It did very well for a 10'. It was also nice and small. If you've got the money, a few of these well placed would work great. The price is an issue. I thought spending more would get me more. I was wrong. I think your paying for the small size here. It's about the same sound as a 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect speaker in a one ft sealed square box. Sony SA-W3800 is a 250w 15" sub that's 1/2 the price (2x the size though) I could go on forever with better buys out there. Dayton is another one (get a sub kit for $450). By the way, they sold the defective speaker to one of you guys. They said they didn't find a problem with it. Someone out there can pull slightly on the RCA cable in the back of their speaker and will be listening to some really loud popping. That's OK though, I'm sure you got a discount! Maybe $399 without delivery.

I am absolutely happy that I purchased the Klipsch RSW-10 subwoofer. It meets and exceeds all my expectations. It also complements the Klipsch RF-15 Floor standing speakers that I already have. I did not know what I was missing in sound experience. Thank you Klipsch!
