RSW- 15,

I've had the high end referrence system for approx 6 years I've never heard anything better. The 15's are as good as my wife and my daughter can handle from a Db perspective. I just purchased new B&W CM9' Towers plus the high end Center but the two subs will be both from Klipsch. This will be my high end only room.

Sound and Vision rated the Klipsch the best subwoofer they ever tested that was under 10,000 dollars!! (The Epic and the Genelec come to mind) It will hit 97dB at 20Hz and will play at 113dB from 25 to 63Hz with ONLY +/-3dB of varitation (with less than 10% distortion). Yeah, there are subs that will play louder at 20Hz but none of them can equal the flat frequency response of the RSW15. I have owned this subwoofer for 4 years now and it has amazed everyone that has ever had the pleasure of hearing it. Besides, it is beautiful, relatively small compared to an ***, and is built like a tank. It will play louder than anyone I have had in the room can stand. It is not all about peak dB but how flat it can play. It does not get much magazine page space and that is fine with me. I would not trade it for anything.

I own the RSW-12 model of this sub. It is a monster. I've owned the Klipsch Reference line since around 2002ish and they sound just as good today as they did after a few hours of break in.
Movies are fantastic once you find the sweet spot to place this beast. Same with music. From rock to jazz, it provides just the right amount of oomph. If you're looking for a sub that sounds like it belongs in a 1992 Honda, go with the Cerwin Vega. If you want a sub that completes a high end system, Klipsch is your best bet.

Klipsch RSW Sub,
I bought one of these Klipsch RSW-15 subwoofers and compared it to a Cerwin Vega CLSC-12 Sub and the cerwin vega sounded better than this high dollar Klipsch Sub. The cerwin vega also cost about $1000 less than the klipsch. Klipsch are way over rated. I bought it just to check it out and was very dissappointed. Im not sure why Klipsch speakers are priced soo high. They sound ok but are not very powerful. Cerwin Vega speakers are very powerful and have awesome sound. Surprisingly they cost way less than Klipsch speakers. I own a Cerwin Vega CVA-118 Sub which peaks at 1250 watts. This baby blows away any klipsch subwoofer by far and still costs less. Anyways I have owned Cerwin Vega and Klipsch speakers(mainly just to try them out) and the Cerwin Vega's are the way to go. Anybody who owns Cerwin Vega speakers knows exactly what Im talking about.
