Whether standing alone in a high-end stereo music system or anchoring your home theater system, the Klipsh RF-5 floorstanding speaker provides amazing sonic clarity and impact from top to bottom. So efficient that it demands only about one-eighth the amplifier power of conventional speakers, the RF-5 utilizes a combination of professional-grade materials and advanced horn technology for a smooth response and consistent coverage pattern. A pair of RF-5s performs as an outstanding and affordable two-channel system, or as a foundation for a complete home theater system (such as when coupled with the RSW-12 powered subwoofer). This speaker measures 42.3 x 9 x 16.4 (with grille) inches (HxWxD); 14.5 inches deep without grille.

The RF-5 has two 8-inch woofers, and its tweeter is composed of a 1-inch titanium dome compression driver with an 8" square Tractrix Horn. It's powered by an unusually large, video-shielded 9.6-ounce magnet, and this combination offers the speed and accuracy needed to deliver clear, accurate, non-fatiguing high and upper midrange frequencies at any volume level. The dual 8-inch woofers have stiff, lightweight Cerametallic cones, rigid, low-resonance cast-polymer frames, and massive 28-ounce magnets, enabling them to generate staggering levels of bass without strain or distortion. The RF-5's cast-polymer woofer frames, which have high impact tolerance to stabilize the woofer motors, are designed to be stronger and more functional than typical driver baskets, and actually contribute to the overall enhanced performance.

The high-quality crossover networks of the RF-5 are carefully designed for an improved blend between the lower midrange and upper bass frequencies. They use the highest quality internal wiring, as do the external bi-wire jumpers.

The speaker features two pairs of binding posts, which are linked with jumpers for normal wiring. Removing the jumpers allows the speaker to be bi-wired. The speaker's floating grille minimizes diffraction, and its feet can be fitted with rubber pads or spikes.
