For use in either a two-channel audio system or as one of a pair of front channel speakers for a complete surround system, the Klipsch SF-2 floorstanding speaker offers the accuracy, dramatic imaging, and high sensitivity you expect from a professional speaker. The SF2's tweeter utilizes a 1-inch aluminum-diaphragm compression driver coupled to a Klipsch 5-inch square Tractrix Horn. This driver assembly is so efficient (96db) that you can enjoy high volumes with low distortion without needing an expensive over-powered amplifier. Two 6.5-inch magnetically shielded, graphite-injected woofers provide powerful bass with remarkable sonic detail. A large flared port bolsters low bass output with minimum turbulence.

It also features a floating grille design, which minimizes image-impairing sonic reflections. This floorstanding speaker can be matched with the SC-1 center-channel and SS-1 surround sound speakers, and it also comes in a cherry finish.

I bought a pair of Klipsch SF-2 speakers Labor Day Weekend. I have been very impressed with sound quality. In the last three weeks I have been playing jazz, rock, classical and folk music from CDs, vinyl and FM. The reproduction of the music over the range of styles and sources has been great. I have always owned speakers built with the Air Suspension design : AR, Yamaha, and Boston Accoustic. I was concerned that these speakers, with their ported rear vent, might be to lively. I was pleasantly suprised. The highs are clear, the midrange is fine and the bass is very good. I have the speakers placed about 15 feet apart and 18 to 24 inches away from a back wall. The stereo image is very good. These speakers are a real bargain.
