I'm a fan of Klipsch products because of their great sound and quality for the money, but this sub is an exception to the rule. It lasted almost 4 years with great sound before the amp circuit board/components failed. The fuse will blow and then you will replace the fuse only to find out the new fuse will immediately blow also. Do your research...you will find I'm not the only one with this same exact problem for this model.

Possible reason for failure: I believe the 10" woofer puts a slight strain on the 200w amp.

Because I still think Klipsch is the best for the money I decided to give this another shot so I purchased the Klipsch SW-450. It's still a 10" sub with the same box dimensions only it has a 450w amp vs the 200w amp. I'm banking on this being the longer term solution.

If you have the extra bones to spend on a Klipsch sub skip this model and just buy the SW-450.

The Sub-10 really kicks out some deep base. I have it in a room that is about 12X14 and it really fills the room with sound. I keep it turned down most of the time, as it vibrates the dishes. It is large, take the measurements, make a cardboard box and see where you will place it. It's easy to connect, and I like the Klipsch sound and quality. As far as I'm concerned, it a great unit and good value.

This sub is awesome. Replaced it with an Onkeyo that was making a clicking/rattle noise when the bass would get heavy. This sub is loud...I only have it on 40 % and it is plenty. No complaints....would recommend to anyone

I got this extremely reasonably priced sub to accompany my Klipsch Quintet 5s and I have to say, WOW. The bass is very clean and precise while still being able to fill my 27'x19' living room. Thanks to the down firing speaker and the rear port, there aren't really high spots or low spots of bass as it fills the room relatively evenly. If I turn it up, I can get my walls to rattle. For anyone looking for a perfect fit with a home theater system used for music and movies, I would highly suggest this sub, especially for the incredible price!

The only downfalls I've found is that the automatic turnoff is set to a volume that is too high so it shuts off when I would rather it not. Easily fixed by turning that feature off and letting it run all the time. Also, the front blue power light is much too bright (it's distracting while watching movies at night) so I just covered it with some electrical tape and that eliminated that issue.

It was everything I hoped it would be! I've used it for about 1 month now and my wife and kids are in awe when it rumbles the room and furniture. I'm just a happy cool cat sitting on the couch loving 7.1 sound, smiling and laughing at its awesomeness! If you don't have the .1 in your home this will add a profound dimension that will be worth anything else you put in your theater.

Deep, deep bass for movies, I haven't figured out how to use the High level in, and high level out connectors, the manual shows how to set it up for either condition, but fails to explain why you would want it to be configured that way. This is my first subwoofer, and I guess I was expecting the manual to tell me what its capabilities are without me having to search the internet to find out the use for dials and switches and connectors. So the user manual failed, but I'm not going to fault the speaker because I don't know how to use it.

Components found on pack speaker panel:
0 degree/180 degree switch: I don't know why that's important
on/auto switch: again, it's purpose???
Low pass knob
gain knob: I've got it set at about 1/3 of its potential, and anything more my daughter fears I'll ruin the subwoofer, but it still thumps amazingly well at that level.
Left-LFE and Right in (I have the LFE, since my tuner only has the one subwoofer out jack, but if yours has R/L this would work for you)
8 foot long power cord exiting the box at the bottom right of the box, at the back panel, with power switch. and I'm assuming fuse access
and the two sets of black/red High level connectors, one pair for high level in and one for high level out.

It was the previous Klipsch 10" before the newer SW-450 model that sells for almost twice as much now.

Good sub for the price, especially if you can catch it on sale at Newegg for ~$170. Overall, the bass is solid.

Poor Quality!!! Although this sub gave me about three years of service (lightly used), the amp blew upon moving it to my new home. After searching online I found this is a common problem with Klipsch subs. A replacement amp from Klipsch is ~$150, so you can practically buy a new sub.

On a side note when I was in college I purchased Klipsch 5.1 Promedia speakers for my computer. The Motherboard/Amp died in less than two years; therefore, this appears to be a common problem. Needless to say, I will never purchase Klipsch products again.
After researching HSU Research subs provide great sound, build quality, and value. Worth the extra money.

I first purchased Klipsch's 300HD system which came with a 6.5" sub. I wasn't statisfied with this sub no matter how much I cranked it up. Everytime there was a loud action scene everything sounded so distorted. I decided to upgrade my sub to the Klipsch SUB10 10" and I'm so glad I did. The sound is amazing! I'm now getting that deep, feel it in your chest base that I was looking for when watching action/sci-fi movies. I would definitely recommend this sub for anyone looking to complete their home theatre set up.
