I'm a fan of Klipsch products because of their great sound and quality for the money, but this sub is an exception to the rule. It lasted almost 4 years with great sound before the amp circuit board/components failed. The fuse will blow and then you will replace the fuse only to find out the new fuse will immediately blow also. Do your research...you will find I'm not the only one with this same exact problem for this model.

Possible reason for failure: I believe the 10" woofer puts a slight strain on the 200w amp.

Because I still think Klipsch is the best for the money I decided to give this another shot so I purchased the Klipsch SW-450. It's still a 10" sub with the same box dimensions only it has a 450w amp vs the 200w amp. I'm banking on this being the longer term solution.

If you have the extra bones to spend on a Klipsch sub skip this model and just buy the SW-450.

The Sub-10 really kicks out some deep base. I have it in a room that is about 12X14 and it really fills the room with sound. I keep it turned down most of the time, as it vibrates the dishes. It is large, take the measurements, make a cardboard box and see where you will place it. It's easy to connect, and I like the Klipsch sound and quality. As far as I'm concerned, it a great unit and good value.

This sub is awesome. Replaced it with an Onkeyo that was making a clicking/rattle noise when the bass would get heavy. This sub is loud...I only have it on 40 % and it is plenty. No complaints....would recommend to anyone

I got this extremely reasonably priced sub to accompany my Klipsch Quintet 5s and I have to say, WOW. The bass is very clean and precise while still being able to fill my 27'x19' living room. Thanks to the down firing speaker and the rear port, there aren't really high spots or low spots of bass as it fills the room relatively evenly. If I turn it up, I can get my walls to rattle. For anyone looking for a perfect fit with a home theater system used for music and movies, I would highly suggest this sub, especially for the incredible price!

The only downfalls I've found is that the automatic turnoff is set to a volume that is too high so it shuts off when I would rather it not. Easily fixed by turning that feature off and letting it run all the time. Also, the front blue power light is much too bright (it's distracting while watching movies at night) so I just covered it with some electrical tape and that eliminated that issue.

This subwoofer is phenomenal. I used to have a cheap Samsung home-theater-in-a-box and it's sub would always snap and crackle when there was a lot of bass. This thing doesn't do that at all. It was a massive upgrade over that cheaper system. I paired it up with a set of Klipsch QUINTET 5.0 speakers and a nice Sony receiver and I couldn't be happier!

For what it's worth, I used to sell home theater equipment for a living. In our store we sold Bose, Klipsch, Polk, and many other great brands. They were all set up with demo systems so that customers could compare them. Without fail, our customers gravitated toward Bose because of recognizing the name and knowing that it's synonymous with high-fidelity audio. They'd listen to the Bose and they'd be very impressed (for good reason). We'd then walk over and invite them to check out the Klipsch speakers and I CANNOT remember a single time when the customer wasn't more impressed by Klipsch. The sound reproduction is so much more full and realistic to my ear when compared to a lot of other brands. Like I said, Bose is great, but their equipment tends to bring out too much of the high-end frequency sounds for my ear. People did still often buy Bose due to the simple fact that Bose offered a lot of easy-to-setup 2.1 systems where you got everything you needed included in one box and let's face it... Bose does sound great. Klipsch was generally the popular choice for people who were really setting up a serious home theater and didn't mind having to run some speaker wire through the wall. -OR- maybe someone who wanted the freedom to choose whatever receiver they wanted and the ability to customize their system from 2.1 to 5.1 or 7.2 or even a system with multi-zone support.

So in closing... after comparing lots of different speakers 5 days a week for about 3 years, I'm 100% sold on Klipsch... if you couldn't already tell... haha.

I've owned this Klipsch 10" Sub for over a decade now with no problems. But that's not the point. With a Klipsch sw all you have to do is match the size of speaker to your needs and that's it. With Klipsch you dont have to worry about quality or if you made the right decision. This sw will give you a true full range of freq., as pure and clean a sound as they come, and no matter the setting being a powered sub you'll never run low on juice.
Another way to look at it as I did. This sw will out perform any 2 "basic" or "entry level" subs combined. So for a little more money upfront I have something that does exactly what I want it to do. Add to that i've now owned this Sub for just over a DECADE; and I put it under heavy pressure, it's literally paid for itself. Read any of the reviews on the "cheaper" subs and you'll find longevity issues and/or warranty issues. That in and of itself is very expensive and is the difference maker. That's something NONE of the other sw manufacturers can say.
Spend a little more money now and get:
Superior sound control
Full range of bass vs. just "thump."
Pure/Clean true sound.
Will not "crackle" or "pop" under heavy loads
Even the cabinet is made better. And is something many overlook but if you think about it, all the vibrations come from right there and if something's ever going to rattle lose and start to make noise, a sw box will. Another plus.

I guess to drag this out the bottom line is i'm positive by now I would have been at the very least been on my 2nd if not my 3rd sub while all along never experiencing what a quality sw can really do. When you look at it like that, the Klipsch costs less.
