Spend more money and get it right,
This review is from: Klipsch iGroove All-in-One Digital Music System for iPod (Silver) (Electronics)
I bought this product after reading countless reviews that there was no difference in sound quality between the Klipsch and the Bose. Sorry to say for both my time and wallet that is simply not the case. This speaker while significantly cheaper that the bose (i bought this for $119.28) is not in the league as the Bose. My brother and sister both have the Bose speaker so I've heard theirs many times. My problem with thew Klipsch is that it lacks bass VERY badly. I've read the reviews about the memory volume problems and found that its really no problem at all. If you like quality sound the bose is worth the extra money sadly i'm packing this up after I write this and ordering the bose. (my girlfriend is none too happy as we're not going out to dinner tonight, but you have to give up something to get the quality of sound people should have.

I must admit that I haven't heard Bose, but I do own this product and it sounds great. Klipsch horn technology is fantastic and the comperable Bose product is more than twice as much $169 vs. $400. I am buying the next version (HG all in one) for my mother-in-law for Christmas and I know she will love it The bass on this unit is fine. The Bose may very well reproduce deep base better, but the overall frequency response of this system (especially mids and tweeter) is fantastic. You won't be disappointed. If you can afford the Bose without batting an eye then buy it, but this is a very nice product for less than half the price.

still love mine after years of use,

I love this little speaker set. As has been said in the other reviews, it doesn't quite pack the same punch as the Bose equivalent, but since it's far less expensive I'd say for the money it's the best you can get. It's been discontinued (so snap one up if you can find one), and I lost the remote ages ago. Shortly after I got the speakers, in fact! That hasn't been a problem in most of the settings in which I've used it, but just recently I started wishing I had the remote. Thinking I was really just wasting time, I looked on the Klipsch website for a replacement -- sure enough they have it! For 8 dollars and free shipping. Knock me over with a feather: a replacement part for a discontinued product, for cheap-cheap and free shipping? They've made one more loyal customer in me just for that. (I've been trying to think how long I've had these, and I'm going to guess four or five years.)
A few complaints: - The speakers always revert to the same mid-level volume setting when you turn them on. That setting is actually pretty loud, however, so depending on the setting it can be pretty annoying. - The lowest end of the speakers' volume range is still fairly loud. Again, depending on the setting this can be a problem. - The speakers aren't portable -- that is to say, they don't run on batteries. It has to be plugged in at all times. It is quite light though, so it is portable in that so long as there is AC power available it's plenty easy to move around. - As I recall, when I had the remote it was fairly weak. It had to be pointed directly at the unit and even then it was somewhat hit-or-miss as to whether it worked. As I've said though I've used the set mostly without the remote at all so this was not a big issue for me. I do love that I can plug a 3.5mm audio cable into the speakers and run audio from (for example) my computer or another source. The speakers can get very loud and handle the volume with dignity, and do quite a respectable job with the bass, to my ears. Overall I've given the unit four stars, since I had those few minor complaints. Great product for a great price! Grab one if you can find it!
