First things first. If it matters to you, KLORANE GENTLE DRY SHAMPOO - NON-AEROSOL SPRAY (as it says on the bottle) is NOT a spray. What KLORANE is calling a "spray" is actually a bottle of powder that you squeeze instead of shake to apply. You turn the cap to reveal the opening, and then you squeeze the bottle to force the dry shampoo powder out. The difference between a dry shampoo powder and a dry shampoo spray matters to me because it is much harder for me to control the amount of powder I squeeze out as opposed to a spray. I only need a little bit where my fine hair tends to show oil first: bangs, part, and crown. With this product, there is no way to apply such a small amount. When I squeeze the bottle, either nothing comes out or a large burst of powder comes out. (The main reason I pay more for dry shampoo spray instead of using the much cheaper, but effective, plain corn starch method is because I can better control the amount and placement of product I apply to my hair.)

Also, like corn starch, this product is pure white. My preferred dry shampoo spray (Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo) has a little bit of tint added which makes it look less, well, powdery, even after brushing the product out of my hair as directed.

On the plus side, the product works. I used this the day after I washed my hair to extend my shampoo, and it definitely eliminated the appearance of oiliness where I needed it to. Also, to me, this product has a pleasant, but almost undetectable, odor. (I like the undetectable part.) I had to bring the hair up to my nose to smell it so I could note it for this review.

Feels and smells great. Highly recommend as a mid-priced dry shampoo. I'm a brunette, and I can tell you that some dry shampoos will leave visible white residue in your hair. This product does not.

I'm currently on my third or fourth bottle of this dry shampoo, and that's over the course of nearly two years; it lasts a very long time. I use it two or three times a week to revive my hairstyle or avoid having to wet my hair. It works all day to combat grease and truly makes my hair look clean.

The application does take some getting used to. You have to gently squeeze the bottle to disperse the product on your hair. Then, wait a few minutes before brushing the product through your hair.

I love that this product has no harsh chemicals, sulfates, or silicones. There are no mystery ingredients and it also won't cause your hair to become flammable like those aerosol products. The scent is nice and light, not cloying.

I have dark hair but have no issues getting this product to blend.

I have tried so many dry shampoos in the past and this is the only one I will buy now.

I completely understand how some people can get confused at using this product. However, with a few practice "sprays" it works amazing! If you find that you are having trouble, just spray it into your hands, rub together and apply to the oily/greasy sections of your hair! This has been the only product that makes my hair feel clean!! I have been using this product for over 2 years now and would definitely recommend it. I also love how it does not have an odor to it. (I recommend for light hair only as the powder is white and may take a while to blend into dark hair)

I have to say I have mixed feelings about this dry shampoo. First I should start off by saying that when it comes to dry shampoo I HATE the spray can formulas and prefer the loose powder dry shampoo formula, however the loose powder type seems to be getting harder and harder to find :( I find that they sprays don't work that well at all and do not absorb the oils as well as the loose formulas. My go to dry shampoo is the Oscar Blandi loose dry shampoo but it seems to be getting harder and harder to find so when I stumbled on this I figured I would give it a try since it received such good reviews here and on other websites as well as featured in magazines as being one of the best. Lets start off with the packaging, I found the packaging pretty easy to use and a little bit different from most loose powder dry shampoos. This is a spray type of sorts but isn't at the same time. With this shampoo you basically shake it up and then squeeze the bottle with the nozzle pointed at the roots of your hair, this allows puffs of the dry shampoo to be applied to your roots as opposed to most dry shampoos where you aim the pointed tip and kind of shake or squirt the bottle at your roots like you would with the Oscar Blandi or Alterna brands of loose powder dry shampoo. I saw a lot of people kind of complain about this but I didn't seem to have too much of an issue as I am used to working with the loose formulas. On to the product it self, scent wise I didn't notice much of a scent at all and I am not super sensitive to fragrance but this did not seem to have an overly perfumey scent or any real noticeable scent to me so that might be a plus for those who are fragrance sensitive.Read more ›
