5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent and completely portable cornucopia of fun for the family!, September 18, 2008

This review is from: Klutz Book: The 15 Greatest Board Games in the World (Paperback)
Although dubiously named, this book is full of fun games that you can play with kids (probably as young as five) and tweeners. The game has a lovely cross-section of the familiar and the old, often softening more abstract games like Go with easier variants and colorful theming. The book is literally a series of game boards on sturdy plastic pages that you can use with the accompanying playing pieces to play all fifteen games (well - if you can supply your own penny for an amusing penny-flipping game). Yes, there are some simple games like checkers and Nine Men's Morris. But there are also charming cooperative games like Corsaro, neat racing games like China Moon and many more sure to delight you and your family for between 10 and 45 minutes. A terrific travel item - you won't find many other ways to pack this much game entertainment into such a nice package. You can hear more details in my review on my board game podcast, Boardgame Babylon (just google it).

Klutz books are fun, fun, fun! Every one I've given as a gift has been loved to death. This one is great - lots of new games, suitable for a variety of ages, easily carried along in the car or to visit friends/family, not too easy but not too hard. I highly recommend it.
