Fab paper airplanes,

I did not know how to make even a single paper airplane (not one that would fly, that is) before buying this book. It saved a rainy weekend with a house full of family. The planes last longer if the ground is dry, but the adults, children and dogs all had a blast flying these beutiful, graceful and fast airplanes. You will not believe that "The Hurricane" can can fly until you try it for yourself.
The directions consist of illustrated steps clearly showing each fold. Even though my 4 year-old nephew was still too little to make a plane for himself, he sat riveted. He picked which paper to use (included), looked at each picture, watched me fold and helped crease the paper. Then we ran outside together to show everyone the tricks our planes could do in the sky.

I bought this for my 6 yr old son who was always asking me to make my one and only paper airplane for him. Than he I taught him how to do it himself. BUT, this book has so many cool planes and they all fly and fly really WELL too!! My son figured out every single airplane from the terrific and easy to follow directions. After he mastered the planes with reg. paper, he made them all with the awesome printed papers in the back of the book, and he saved them all. He is almost 8 now and he still likes to make paper airplanes that he learned from this book, and HE makes them for HIS friends now. Very cool book, very nice and easy instructions, great pictures and plenty of cool papers to fold into planes. If your child is interested at all in paper airplanes this is a great gift idea...heck you too may learn a few tricks!! :-)

This is a great book for someone who wants to fold real paper airplanes from a single piece of paper....w/o cut and paste. These paper airplanes really fly well. My Grandkids thought they were tremendous....and you know what...for an old Naval Aviator fighter pilot with over 31 years active service, I love them as well.

Impressive,

I have two books for my 6 year old son. One needs an engineering degree to get past step 4. The other is this one. My 6 year old could figure out how to follow the directions before he could read. He is a paper-airplane expert, and now makes up his own models. Very impressive book, and the paper is exceptional. I have bought refills for the book, which are on the Klutz site.

I use this book in my sixth grade science class to teach students about aerodynamics and the physics of flight. Fun and educational, this is the best paper airplane book I have seen out there.

Simple & Interesting,

The illustrations are clear and simple. And the airplane paper is included, which is a big plus.
Surprising to me, all the paper planes I made with my daughter fly better indoor than outside. We are somewhat disappointed, for the plans keep hitting the walls and when we took them outside, eight out of ten times they didn't do so well. Our house is not too small and with second stories. It might be difficult for kids to play them in smaller houses or inside of an apartment.

This is an awesome book. I bought it for my 6 year old son as he loves planes. What a hit, his older sister (8) loves the book too. Now I keep some on hand for Birthday gifts. I gave it to a 9 year old boy for his birthday and Wow what great response from him and the other kids. You just have to love when kids can make their own fun and not sit in front of a computer game! GREAT Book!

I purchased this book of paper airplanes for my grandson who had just had open heart surgery and needed quiet activities to keep him occupied. It did the trick and kept him absorbed for hours.

They really fly!,
This review is from: Klutz Book of Paper Airplanes (Spiral-bound)
The papers in this kit are beautiful and the instructions are clear. Most amazingly, though, the planes really fly! This was a great compact project to pack for a trip where my kids (ages 5 and7) had a lot of down time. The only caveat is that the grownup should be prepared to do most of the folding since it has to be done exactly so.

I use this book as a year-end treat for the students I tutor in reading. The book touches on aerodynamics and science with fun-to-make paper airplanes as the theme. My students enjoy the challenge of folding, tweaking, and flying the airplanes. The paper that is included is sturdy and eye catching. Both boys and girls enjoy the projects in this book which range from simple to difficult. Each plane is different and demands that the student read and fold carefully. The vocabulary is stimulating.
