Used these brackets for a folding desk/shelf in the home office. The shelf is made of 3/4" birch ply with a 1x2 red oak trim for added stiffness. The 6 foot long shelf has a 48" span between the brackets, but it is still very stiff. A piece of the same plywood was placed between the bracket and the wall before driving 3" screws into the studs to keep the brackets from crushing the drywall, causing a sloppy connection. The brackets snap into place with a satisfying "click" at 45 and 90 degrees and stay firmly in place. No slop or flexing. To lower the desk it needs to be raised slightly to release the mechanism; the levers on the brackets can then be fully pressed to release the lock. Don't assemble your shelf so the back is flush with the wall or it will bind when you lift up the required distance to release the lock. The levers need to be pressed simultaneously, so make sure your wingspan is adequate and you use no more brackets than you have hands. Rock solid brackets that exceeded my expectation.

This is exactly what I was looking for to add a workbench in my garage without giving up space. When I need the bench it is simple to lift up. When I dont need it the brackets fold down easily. Seems to be a very durable product.

the capabilities of the product are great. The release trigger needs a rubber pad or slightly extended from end of bracket so when your blindly searching for the release you can feel it right away. I used the brackets on a fold away laundry table and the customer has arthritis and found the release trigger hard to find so I added a small tab at end. the strength of the brackets are great. She will also use table for her children to draw on since the brackets also lock in at an angle. The Handyman

I got these to make a flip-up/fold-down outfield table for my cabinet table saw.
They're certainly priced much lower than Rockler and I think they are the same bracket.
The brackets are a little stiff to operate and appear to run on plastic (teflon?) rollers so they
don't need lubrication. They are heavy duty and when engaged seem beefy enough to support
a pretty heavy load. I'm generally happy with them and the price I got them for but
am still working on a alignment issue that's keeping my outfeed table from lowering all
the way. Finally, you should know that to get these brackets to lower to allow room to release and
lift your shelf up a little to get them to unlock. I like them. Could be better but no one offers anything
similar that compares.

I bought a pair of these brackets to rig up a fold-up/down workbench for my garage. I anchored each of them with 3, 2-1/2" lags into studs spaced 64" apart (probably overkill but I happen to have 6 of these lags available). I then screwed a 68x20" sheet of 5/8" plywood on top and finally, used construction adhesive to adhere a sheet of 1/8" MDF material to provide a smooth surface (fortunately, this was all scrap lumber from other projects).

Works better than I expected with absolutely no instability up/down or left/right. Due to the long span between brackets I did screw a small block into the middle stud to support the center of the bench. This extra support was only necessary because I used 5/8" ply, if I had used 3/4", there would be no flex. But as I stated, this was all scrap lumber.

Highly recommend these VERY sturdy brackets!

It's a solid product. I bought to install a fold down kitchen table in my camper Sprinter Van. It definitely will hold its engineered weight limit, it is relatively slim, and simple to raise and lower. Just know that under load it won't sustain large lateral forces (side to side) unless secured in that direction. For a small dinette table in my van it has more than enough strength

The bracket is very sturdy and well made. I only ordered one for a 3 1/2 foot table top that's attached to the side of a glass case at work. For stability only I attached 1/2 inch thick pieces of wood to either side of the bracket, and placed the bracket in the center. The bracket seems strong enough to take the weight that seller claims. On the opposite end of the table I attached folding legs with springs since the table is so long, I'm not worried the bracket won't hold, just that the table itself, because of it's length might start to sag past the bracket which as I said is very strong.
