Product Description

Snap E Mouse Traps (1 Trap) (see my store front for the Snap E Rat Traps and or Mini Trex mouse and Trex rat snap traps) The SNAP-E is truly a "better mousetrap." Easy to bait. Easy to set. Easy to release. Escape proof and you never touch another mouse. The mechanism is smart, the materials are rugged. SNAP-E mousetraps are easy to use and made to last. Use them year after year. They're safe, simple and sanitary. Steel and durable polystyrene materials make them tough. Smart engineering - including a larger trip paddle and strike bar - makes them work every time. Place the baited SNAP-E near a wall and pull back on the upright bar until it locks firmly in catch. The vertical strike bar travels half the distance of old-fashioned wooden traps. The extra-large trip paddle and strike bar catch rodents from the front, sides and back. To release, simply pull back on the upright bar until mouse is released. Fingers never touch the mouse.

I have used these snap mousetraps in the past and find them superior to the older fashioned Victor products. Victor products work fine but these seem to kill better and are easier in set-up. Also, when disposing the dead mouse you don't have to handle the kill-bar with your fingers. Simply pull back with the handle. In contrast to using poisons, by killing and removing the mouse, it won't go back into it's hole, die, and stink up the place. I lost my last one so I am going to buy more of these after posting this review.

I've used these traps for a few years now. Every fall I have to deal with the little demons coming in from the cold. There is virtually no chance of getting your fingers caught in the trap, unlike the old style wooden traps. One caveat. You must make sure that the trip fulcrum (next to the thumb in the product photo) is just barely holding the trap open. Otherwise the weight of the mouse won't trip it. Other than that, this trap is reliable, easy to set, and easy to empty without having to touch a dead rodent.

I had heard of these traps from a man who worked for my husband, over a decade ago. An older relative of his invented them. (Hi Kerry!) I didn't think about them again for a long time, but the two varieties of supermarket mousetraps not only stopped killing mice for us but are now made so poorly that they fail to work after the first few times they snap shut. I decided to bite the bullet and pay more. These traps really do work better. The mouse has to step on the flange to get to the peanut butter in the little cup inside that hole you see in the picture. The yellow plastic-covered part slams down on the mouse's neck, and that is that. It's also easier to set than the two supermarket types and it doesn't go off if you walk heavily across the floor. Kudos to the Kness mousetraps!
