The lamp is very nice although it is primarily made of plastic which was surprising to me. When you hit on/off button the train moves around the base with train sounds and shortly after complete circle it turns lamp off. You can turn sound off with a switch in back of the base. My son loves this lamp.

Bought this lamp for my 5 yr old grandson. What a neat lamp. He loves it. I highly recommend this lamp for any train buff and/or kids. Realistic sound too.
