Product Description

Novelty scarves are still in style. With this rectangle loom anyone can be fashionable. Working on the same principle as the round knitting looms, this loom knits a single layer. Simply knit until your scarf is the desired length and finish off.

Customer Reviews

Love my loom can use it in a lot of ways.

For example, do I skip one peg with a wrap as I come from an end and the end of the row, leaving me one less or two less to cast off each time?
Camille
The material it's made out of is sturdy enough.

I love the look of knitted items, especially shawls, wraps and scarves- but have found it too confusing to transfer how-to information from books to my brain to my hands. Maybe if I could find a very, very patient person to sit down with me and walk (crawl) me through it, that would change. However, when I saw this and read about it, I went for it, and I am so glad that I did. I have one of these knifty knitters in each length, but this 22 inch long one is my favorite because it allows me to make very wide shawls/wraps VERY EASILY! With this particular size, I made my first "knitted" shawl/wrap (please see my photos for a visual idea) from some earthy textured multi-pack yarn bought from my local art/craft supply store's "bargain bin." I prefer the thicker yarns or textured yarns for most projects, they look fuller/better and feel better to me as well.

The process is quite simple and repetitive, which makes my hands happy while I'm watching TV with my family or just relaxing in the recliner. I am able to do this while watching TV because the process requires very little attention once you get the hang of it, and I only need to glance down occassionaly. It's easy to do in spurts, because at each end of this knitting loom is a little peg that sticks out, and I can simply wrap my yarn at my stopping place on one of these pegs, use a rubber band across the last pair of pegs on my stopping place, clips, or use a piece of tape to secure the yarn itself.

Also, you don't have to utilize every peg of this loom if you don't want it very wide. You can also use it to make narrower scarves, using only a portion. Right now I'm working on a scarf that is only utilizing 9 pairs of pegs, as my daughters (pre teen and up) currently have my other smaller sized looms.

I now have 3 of these 22" long looms, and will probably get a couple more before too long. I have a small business that I make scarves and other knit goods for along with a lot of things for my family, and these make it so easy to switch between projects with no down time. It's nice to be able to go to one project and work for a while, then pick up another when one gets too tedious. The hardest part seems to be- for me- to remember what stitch I am doing on which project!

I have two different afghans going on 2 of my looms, and my third is currently empty. I have all the long loom sizes, but seem to use the 22" ones more. All the Provo Craft knitters are fabulous products, and even if you have no talent for needle knitting- I'm one of those- you can make virtually the same things on these. A must have for anyone!

It's amazing how easy it can be to knit with this loom!!!
You can knit beautiful scarfs, or even blankets by just connecting the parts together. You can also knit tube-like garments just like in the circular looms. In no time you will have professional quality items in your hands!!!You just have to pick your favorite yarn!!!If you combine it with the "knifty knitter loom clips" the possibilities are endless of what you can create!!! The only thing that you have to be aware, is to prefer bulky oar extra bulky yarns or use double the thread of thinner yarns especially if you're making scarfs!!!Happy knitting everyone!!!

It took far too long to track down a large loom such as this, but it was well worth it!

Unlike other looms, this one has grooves in the pegs which help immensely when carrying yarn over with a loom hook. The material it's made out of is sturdy enough. It shows no signs of coming easily apart or breaking, which is something every buyer wants to hear!

If you like to loom knit and feel like venturing into larger projects (afghans, wide wraps, etc.) then I highly suggest giving this loom a go.

I decided that I wanted to try making a rubberband mural, so I did some research and Knifty Knitter has a very good reputation. So I ordered this loom. I'm working on a piece now and I'm very happy with the size and performance of the loom. It's very sturdy. I love the small grooves in each pin as it allows me to get my hook under the bands when removing them. Highly recommend this product!

i have amazon prime so i received the nifty knitter loom just a couple days after purchasing it. I have not finished anything on it yet, but it seems to be working great. It's a good idea to use two pieces of yarn if you don't want too big of holes in the scarf/baby blanket your making. Easy to use, comes with one loom needle and a smaller needle to finish the stitches at the very end.

I tried for months to knit with needles of various sizes and never could get it. Everything always looked awful when I was finished. But the Knifty Knitter helped me be able to make beautiful scarves and other items with a nice consistent knit & edges. It was a great buy for me!!
