5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Batmobile
This is like 2 toys in 1: the Batmobile and the Batcycle from the movie. Both are very realistic and true to the actual Batmobile and Batcycle from the movie. When the launcher is activated, the motorcycle shoots out - going very fast and far. This is worth the money, and easy to operate. Highly recommend. Batman is molded onto the motorcycle, so he won't come off...

3.0 out of 5 stars Too complicated for younger kids, October 18, 2008
My son is 5 and struggles to get this toy reloaded after shooting the batcycle out of the batmobile. The first step is to load the batcycle in backwards until you feel a spring resistance and then hear a click, it can take a few tries. Then you need to perfectly align both side with the rocket launchers attached by pressing them under the car, while at the same time pressing the top part down to latch the car back into position. This is just too complicated for young kids. My son can get it on occasion, but most times asks my husband because even I struggle to do it. We've had it for about a month and the car sits, he just plays with batman on the motorcycle. The age range on this toy should be higher.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mattel does it again!!, August 9, 2008
Don't let the my title fool you. This batmobile is by far very disappointing. I got it for my birthday just for show and curiosity. First of all, the bottom of the vehicle rubs against the ground with a separate pair of "mini" wheels on the bottom front. This makes the front wheels not turn on hard ground. On carpet however, they do turn. It comes with two buttons labeled as 1 and 2. The first one opens the top and sides revealing missiles and the bat pod. It's supposed to simulate "battle damage". It's really cool at first but can get annoying after awhile. I wish they would have done it like the movie, having the bat pod separate from the tumbler with the front wheels as the wheels for the pod. That would have been awesome but again, Mattel had a good opportunity and passed it up. The second button launches the bat pod, literally. Also cool but annoying after awhile. Mattel did however make the tumbler look realistic, but that's about it that's cool. Also, you can put a regular 5 and a half inch batman figure in the tumbler but only if the bat pod is deployed. Even then, the figure can move about aimlessly. On to the bat pod. Mattel did this right, for once. It looks very much like the one from the movie. The only drawback, however, is that the batman figure cannot come off. He is just stuck there. If you want one that can, get the bat pod by itself, which is what I might do. Anyway, that concludes my review. I hope it helps.

I didn't really expect this toy to be that nice
it's pretty fun to play with

I read earlier review saying it's difficult to control/play with, but I didn't find it hard to control at all

and the batman figure does look very nice, the only bad thing is it's stuck/glue on the batpod, took me an hour take the batman off the batpod

This toy is so difficult to play with for a 7-year-old boy and a 49-year-old dad. We found this Bat Mobile on sale for almost half price at ToysRUs. My son got so excited. But wait until we got home. He got so frustrated after only one hour playing with this piece of junk. He wanted to return it. He never wanted to return any toy at all......

1.0 out of 5 stars It didn't work out of the box., February 20, 2009

Usually I give fair reviews and take a lot of things into consideration, looking on the bright positive side. This time, I have no positive thing to say about this product.

My 6 year old son got this for Christmas and it didn't work when we took it out of the box. We tried for about 3 hours to find out why it wouldn't work, and never could figure out a reason.

The problem we had is the motorcycle wouldn't even fit into the bat mobile. We thought maybe we were putting it in wrong, the instructions didn't help at ALL, because we did what it said and still it wouldn't go.

This is not a well thought out toy, and they could have made it easier to use. The only reason we bought the toy was for the "idea" that the motorcycle would fit into the car. We even had a hard time keeping it together, and 2 pieces broke off while trying to figure out how it works.

There are better toys out there that are more fun than this. He enjoyed the Lego collection more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool toy: push top in first and then the sides., January 10, 2009

The toy is easy to use if you follow this order: Push the batman/batpod in, close the top and then press in the sides. My 4 year once trained to do this, has been enjoying the toy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for small kids and not sturdy., December 29, 2008

I normally don't write reviews, but given the money I forked out for this toy, I wanted to save other parent's pocketbooks. As with the some of the other reviews, it is pretty difficult (even for an adult) to get the batcycle reloaded, because you have to push the figure back deep within the toy until it clicks. The spring is touchy and doesn't always want to slide back. You then have to get the three sides properly aligned and snapped together to get it to close. A small child can't get their hands around it to do this. The plastic is pretty cheap. One of the sides flew off the car when we launched the cycle and fortunately, I was able to snap it back on, but I'm not sure how long it will last. You would be much better off buying a single piece stealth car (much more durable)and cycle separately. You may lose the launch function, but a child can launch the cycle much more easily than this toy. An older kid (> 8) probably could have fun with this, but durability would still be an issue.
